hello everyone...any June 2006 RN's who will retake the exam this June 2007? Been reading all the posts here, including there opinions and suggestions, just thoughted of asking whose preparing for the upcoming exam? Are there any additional requirements if we'll take the exam? Will they revoke our license as registered nurses in the Philippines?
I dunno when and where to start studying again. Test 3(Medical-Surgical Nursing) but I guess the questions again are out of these worlds scenarios.Test 5( Psychiatric Nursing) I bet theyll inlcude some questions that are not based on theories and not found in the book...Whhooaa..God Bless..
And the NCLEX is not a done deal until Pearson-Vue actually opens an office there. Licensing is one issue, immigration is completely another. And CGFNS has no say over what the US government is requiring. They do not make any of the immigration rules, and cannot change anything that is stipulated by the US government. And I agree 100% with what CGFNS has said. And I do not agree that NCLEX should be held in Manila until those centers that were involved with the cheating scandals are out of business and their owners are no longer around. That it is still under investigation, but they are open and collecting money is completely wrong. And illegal in the eyes of a government that does not get kick-backs and everything else.
We have already seen nurses boasting on another website that they lied to CGFNS and now have their VSC. That is grounds for being denied entry into the US, and at best being deported once they are investigated and they will be. As long as you see that type of thing happening, why in the world would we want someone like that working as an RN in the US. Because of they are willing to lie to the US government, what will they do when they are taking care of patients? And remember, it could be a family member of yours.
------------------------
Many of you are in a hurry to get to the US, but please take the time to do it in the correct and legal way. Trying any shortcuts will turn around and bite you on the butt.

And in my tirade here, why does't anyone go after the LPN programs that have opened there? They are not recognized for licensure in the Philippines, so how do they even get proper clinical training, when the instructors do not have experience in that area, and most have never worked in the US. And to top it off, they boast that they nurse can take and pass the NCLEX-PN exam, BUT fail to tell them that the LPN/LVN license does not give them a visa to work in the US. That requires the USCIS, and from the Philippines, it requires the BSN for any nursing role.
The only ones that benefit from schools like that are the owners that are giving half-truths to the students that enroll, well knowing that they can only use that degree if they are already a US citizen, or possess a green card already. You are unable to obtain one on your own as an LPN.

does anybody know the detailed requirments for the retake of test 3 and 5 NLE for those june 2006 boardpassers? When is the start of filing? and till wen?
wen is the exams for june 2007?
Does the exisitng nurse license be surrendered or not?
is the retake free?
pls answer...thanks
The Dept. Of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is currently finalizing the details of the re-take of test 3 and 5. Pls. refer to the news clips on this thread: https://allnurses.com/forums/f235/cgfns-june-06-nursing-board-passers-207619.html
No. The Phil. license will not be surrendered nor will it be even be canceled if the re-takers fail those exams. Pass or fail you will still have your Phil nursing license and can work in the Phils.
The DOLE will be the one in-charge of this and the BON will of course provide the questions (either entirely new ones or coming from the new test bank used by the Dec. 2006 takers) and through the PRC (for administrative purposes only).
This means that the results of the re-take will not go to the PRC nor PRC will keep it. The results will go directly to the DOLE. The details are still being finalized. The DOLE is in constant talks w/ the CGFNS representatives in Manila for the details of the entire procedure.
The DOLE (not PRC) will either give the re-takers individual certificates of passing and/or the DOLE will just create an official Master List of names of re-takers that passed the said exams and directly send it to CGFNS so that the individual nurses don't have to spend again in sending proof of passing individually and for security reasons as well.
Only June 2006 passers having an official certification of passing test 3 and 5 from DOLE and/or their names on the 'Master List' of official passers to be given directly by DOLE to CGFNS can be given VSC and those not having that proof or their names not on the list are still barred from having the VSC.
The DOLE will officially announce the final procedures in due time. By next week I bet.
Palace to nursing board passers: Retake the exams
MANILA, Philippines -- Nursing graduates who passed the leakage-tainted June 2006 board exams should retake the test, if they are bent on working in the United States, a Malacañang official has advised.
Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Sergio Apostol said that since the Commission of Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS) is a private organization, it could not be prodded to reconsider its decision not to grant VisaScreen applications for the 2006 board passers.
"Retake the exam if you want to get to the States," Apostol told reporters in Malacañang on Monday.
Medical workers seeking employment in the US need VisaScreen certificates from the CGFNS before their applications for a working visa could be processed.
Despite a Court of Appeals decision ordering only a partial retake of the board exams, the CGFNS has refused to grant VisaScreen certificates to the 17,000 passers of the June 2006 licensure examinations unless they retake tests 3 and 5, which were reportedly leaked.
"That is a rule in the United States. If you want to go to the States, you follow their rules, if you do not want, never mind," Apostol said.

hi are there any requirements need in applying for a retake? ThaNkS..
The nurses who did the retake last December submitted their notice of admission, orig and photocopy of your TOR, and birth certificate in NSO security paper. No need to surrender your license. The partial retake is voluntary.

does anyone know what the requirements are if you surrender your license? is the march 15 deadline of filing final?
i am a june06 passer but with all the issues on the limelight again, im planning to surrender my license and take the new set of exam this june07.. silly me!! i haven't thought of getting/repeating the exam last december06.. im really confused at that time and didn't know what to do.. sobs.. i hope everything will be cleared already..the government should hurry and make the guidelines and disseminate it ASAP! i hate waiting in vain... grrr!
The current set-up by CGFNS in coordination w/ DOLE is to re-take 3 and 5 w/o surrendering the license so that whether the re-takers pass or fail they will still have the local license.
However, ANA just gave an official announcement w/c everyone should prob. know by now that they prefer a re-take of the whole exam. This is still being studied. So, I suggest waiting for the official announcement whether it's still just test 3 and 5 or the whole exam. Either way, the set-up would be a re-take to be conducted by DOLE and not PRC anymore w/o giving up the local license and re-takers will still have their local license whether they fail or pass the re-take.
Best move now is just to wait for the final word on whether that re-take will be just test 3 and 5 or the whole exam. Personally, at least in my opinion, it shouldn't matter if it's test 3 and 5 only or the whole exam anyway since pass or fail the local license stays w/ the nurse. The re-take is only for the purpose of the visa screen and employability in the U.S.
DOLE will be the one conducting the re-take and they are already in talks w/ ANA and CGFNS for proper coordination.
No need to surrender the local license nor will it be canceled if one fails on the re-take.

It appears they (PRC) are trying to attempt what Dante Ang and company have accomplished with convincing NCSBN to put up a Testing Center here.
Id say we move on and follow what the CGFNS has outlined.
