June 2008 NCLEX support group

This thread is for any upcoming graduates taking NCLEX in June of 2008.

To start off with I would love to hear if anyone is taking Kaplan, or Drexel or other prep courses and why did you choose the one you did? I am looking into them and I am just not sure which one is best and why.

I did not do the Kaplan so i cant help there

I did most of the blue and green saunders and was getting abou 80%

2 hurst reviews( can basically recite the hurst study book)

I had 265 questions and feel like a total loser and failure.

no results yet

i am really worried!

in response to your question, I dont think any of my study material was even close to NCLEX, study study

I took my NCLEX yesterday and found out today already that I passed! I live in PA and the SBON had my results posted already. I can't believe it! The computer shut off at 75, I had about 20-25 SATA and thought for sure that I failed. I felt awful all night. I definitely feel better now. Good luck to all of those that are taking it this month, and to those that have taken it and are waiting on the results, stay positive!

I took my OHIO boards yesterday and I swore I failed. I had 120ish questions and alot were select all that apply. Lots of priority questions, a few math, peds and endocrine. I cried all day yesterday.

Well, I got on the Ohio Board of Nursing website and it has a license number and ACTIVE beside my name soooo I am assuming I passed!!!

Thank goodness it's over!

Gosh Im so glad all of you seem to be passing! In a way it will keep my hopes up after I take it if I felt like it went poorly :) I take my test on Monday the 9th. I'll keep you posted. I am worried MOST about the alternative questions because they are hardest to prepare for. My study materials have only barely touched on them and they stink!! I guess though, if you are still getting hard questions that is a good sign meaning that you are at least passing some of them...right!?

Hi all! Took NCLEX this morning. Shut off at 75. It felt like I was getting fairly difficult questions, but then I also felt like I was guessing between the "best 2" answers on many of the questions. It's going to be a long couple of days...

I'm nervous you guys. Reading all about those who have tooking the NCLEX so far on the SATA questions..urgggggggggggg....I very much dislike those questions....lol. Anyways.....Good Luck and Congrats to everybody!!!!

I received a letter in the mail, it said i did not pass though i was near the standard!

i really studied for this and applied myself through school but i typically have not done well on standardized tests

I am sorry baceball,

I know this is hard for you, but when you are ready, you will pick the pieces back up and bounce back to the books in reviewing. I have been there.

I am retaking my exam this month. So, it took a while for me to pick up the pieces. Almost a year, so don't do it like me. Keep the knowledge all together and timing is the key. Don't let it go for too long to reschedule. They say for re-takers to reschedule the exam when you are ready to review within 6-8 weeks ahead, that way you have a goal in mind, and you are not wasting time to review. If no date is scheduled, there is no goal to work towards. I remember it took me four months to re-open my review book!

So, after this being said, when you are ready, june support group is here for you. We are here to help you get through what you need to, in order to get back to it. And almost at the passing standard! At least you know what to expect for the next time...hang in there. You will get through this!
