June 2010 CRNE Results

World Canada CRNE

Published

I don't want to start the posts too early, but I was just wondering if anyone knew how long it is actually supposed to take to get results this year. I know that some people I worked with last summer got theirs in early-mid July. I checked out the CNO website and the CNA website (and a few others along the way) one says 8-12 weeks and the other says 4-6. I'm already driving myself crazy...if I have to wait another 8+ weeks I'll end up really going off the deep end :uhoh3:

And by the way, the waiting time is gruesome. It is killing me. With NCLEX you could do at least 75 questions in the computer and be done. I did 75 questions for an hour and a half and the computer shuts down. Results are obtained in 48 hours. The CRNE is taking so long to grade. What was the use of the scantron sheets with all multiple choice answers when the waiting time is just as long as when the test used to incorporate short answers which are graded by hand?

Still waiting for results in Ontario. Also did everyone get their result by mail or was your registration posted online with your provincial regulatory body? Argh!....:nurse:?????? When will this be over!!!

The results are ALWAYS sent by mail. Your names won't appear on the Colleges' websites until you've completed your registration process and paid them all that money.

The purpose of the Scantron sheets is to reduce the amount of time the test takes to be marked and to eliminate any subjective bias. They've been in use for a really long time; my exam in 1994 included a Scantron sheet but it also ran to 700 questions over two days, so you can imagine if CNA had to manually mark the thousands of exams that were written then just how long it would have taken.

This is exactly why I was wondering why it would take a long time to grade the test when the test has been shortened and revised to include only multiple choice questions as oppose to the previous CRNE's that have short answers in them that needed to be graded by hand.......I was looking at previous threads and I realized it took about the same time to release the results of the June 2009 and June 2010 CRNEs. I thought it would be faster this time since the grading is solely done by scantron scanning........Whatever the reason is...I hope it will be worth the wait

The short answer questions were only included in about 3 exam cycles before the big leak happened and they withdrew them for the time being. So really, there's not a lot of difference. It used to take 8 full weeks so I think 6 isn't so bad.

People from my class are getting their results (in BC)! I haven't heard yet though...

Hey! Where in B.C. are they coming in? I live on Vancouver Island and nothing yet!! So I am guessing they should be in next week sometime...ahhh scary! Goodluck!

Myself and quite a few of my classmates got their results today (BC). We passed! Yay!

Congrats to all who are getting results! It seems all good news! The torture continues in Ontario and will last the weekend... I am wondering for those of us working with a temp licence... If I fail the CRNE....Will I get notice in the mail first or will I be called into my managers office first??

Does anyone know what the passing mark was for the June 2010 Exam?

Why would your manager call you to the office first, you receive the results by mail first

nO results in this part of BC :(

i ONLY started to worry after last Thurday.

:smokin:

I thought maybe the unit manger might be one of the first to know if my temp licence is revoked if I do not successfully complete the CRNE.....

The passing mark is not important. Most people do NOT get a mark, just a PASS or FAIL. Only the rare few who were very close to passing will have a mark in their letter. It doesn't matter if you pass by one correct response or 50, a pass is a pass. As for the College contacting your manager, I've enver heard of that happening. It would be incredibly labour-intensive for them to weed out all the unsuccessful candidates then cross-reference them with a list of temporary registrants and then somehow find out who they're working for, then work their way down to the unit level. We all have an ethical responsibility to communicate things like this.
