Hello everyone,
I'm planning to take my test in July and I am doing Suzanne first plan. Is anyone out there thinking taking their test in July please come and help and share ideas..
Thanks
Nicole cn2 4now, thanks for the words of encouragement. i am really trying my best! i get tired of doing the questions all in one sitting so I try to split them up 50-50-50-etc. i'm using saunders, kaplan q trainer, ati, and nclex 3000 to do questions. I have found that kaplan is great but very difficult. for the next 2 weeks i am going to get really deep into content and then the remaining two weeks focus on comprehensive. i test july 29 and will keep all of us in prayer for success on NCLEX! God be with us all.
I see all of you talking about the Kaplan trainer and the ATI... I havent heard of these... where do i find them and how much? My boards are Wednesday... so not much time.
I have the following: Hurst review, Saunder's 4th Ed., and my job gave me 8 weeks of access to NCSBN Learning Extension... any of you heard of it? Had any luck with it??
HELP! lol I'm freaking more each day.
I totally feel your Pain malenurse1979!! I am freaking out as well. I dreamed last night that I flunked the NCLEX then went to work (I work as an LPN at a hospital) and my D.O.N. told me I had been written up three times. When I asked her why, she told me it was confidential!!
I should have known it was a dream because I have not been written up in the 10 years I have worked there! I will be glad when July 10th gets here so I can get the stress over with one way or another.... I was a CNA for 18 years an have been an LPN for a year and this is a dream I thought I would never reach...Now it all hinges on one exam. The best of luck to all of us preparing for the big day and congratulations to those who have reached the finish line!

I haven't used Kaplan trainer, but read the Kaplan NCLEX-RN 2007-2008 edition, ISBN: 9781419550980 This book is a fast read and helps with strategy, how to eliminate answer choices and gives a lot of practice questions with a CD included. Try to read it over the weekend. You probably can find it at a bookstore. If not, don't stress. I heard Saunders is good for content review and I'm not familiar with NCSBN, but as long as you practice some type of NCLEX questions you should do fine.
My nursing program purchased the ATI books from atitesting.com and we did a module along with each semester for the last two years and then a comprehensive right before graduation. In order to graduate we all had to pass the ATI at a 95% predictor of passing NCLEX which is a score of 70.
Good luck and think positive!!
When did you graduate? May 18
When do you test? July 9
Did you take a review course? Yes, Kaplan!
What are you using to study? Kaplan Qtrainer/Qbank/Coursebook, Saunder's Comprehensive Review, Pharmacology Made Insanely Easy...
How often are you studying? 1-3 hours/day...
Hope we all pass!!! =)
testing july 1st feeling pretty confident right now as i have put in much study time. i mostly used saunders. tuesday july 1st shall tell the story. i've been told i probably won't feel as confident after leaving testing center.hoping to report back with good news!
good luck to all!
i have also heard that after leaving the testing center most people don't feel confident at all. on the other hand, i've been hearing from a lot of people who've already taken it and people they know who've already taken it (and so on), and all of those people thought they failed when they left, but they all passed! so, don't get too down on yourself afterward! you can do it!
