I graduated May 16.

I test July 10 @ 0800.

I did not take a review course--couldn't afford it!

I am using Saunders to review content areas (using the cd for questions & rationales), Hurst to help with meds (it's much more concise), and Kaplan.

I study just about daily for 3-4 hours, depending on what content I'm covering and whether it's a strong or weak area for me. I like to do lots of questions.

I took the ATI test the last week or so of class and it predicted that I have a 98% chance of passing NCLEX... we shall see...

I plan to finish up with Saunders by Monday (June 30), which leaves 10 days before NCLEX to do Kaplan questions and review anything I'm not comfortable with.

how much does kaplan cost? i love the saunder's book. i think you may have inspired me to get the hurst book because i'm still having a lot of trouble with my medications. there's just too much to know. i also got a 98% chance with the ati, but i'm not relaying on that too much. well...i wish you luck!

the kaplan book? i can't remember exactly... probably between $30-40... i wanted to take the kaplan review course, but it was a few hundred dollars! i like the hurst book for meds (my friend found it and she loves it too) because it has short (relatively), simple, concise info on drug classes. i like knowing them by drug classes because that makes it easier to remember. my pharm class in college wasn't very good, and i was still trying to figure out how to study for nursing since it was in the first semester!

good luck to you too! we can do it!

When did you graduate? May 10

When do you test? July 3 :p

Did you take a review course? No

What are you using to study? ATI comprehensive predicter 98%, Saunders CD for reviewing content, Kaplan for practice on how to answer the questions (strategy), NCLEX 3500, NCLEX RN 250 alternative questions, and I just bought Exam Cram by Pearson vue. Has anyone used "Exam Cram". I'm currently doing the CD but I won't be through it in a week. The test is supposed to be a CAT style like NCLEX.

How often are you studying? Almost daily for 4-5 hours for the last 4 weeks scoring 70-82% on practice tests. I try to do 200 questions a day.

Some days I feel ready and others I want push my test back. Now I need to focus on positive thoughts. Anyone do self talk...how do you wipe away the doubt???

Did you take a reivew course? Yes, Drexel

What are you using to study? Drexel online courses, NCLEX 3500, Lippincott

How often are you studying? at least 100 questions a night.. bumping it up between 150-200 now that my date is set!

Best of luck everyone

when did you graduate? may 15th

when do you test? july 21st :banghead:

did you take a review course? kaplan

what are you using to study? kaplan :thnkg:

how often are you studying? too much....:typing...150 q/day

i took the ati in school and got an 84% chance of passing.....that was before kaplan, and before finishing school.....so i decide to take kaplan.....and feel completely overwhelmed. i agree w/what someone else had already mentioned, and i am trying to pay no-attention to what those statistics show. after all i passed nursing school! whats one more test. i think the review courses try to make you look bad so you study harder. i do lots of questions and read everything esp. rationales. i just hope it all works.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2-year nursing school w/ books= about $6k

4-boxes of imodium to get through nursing school = about $25

having an rn job lined up 2 months before graduation = lucky

kaplan's full live review = $450

studying daily furing the summer after graduation = torture

but.....if i pass the nclex 1st time out = all will be priceless :plsebeg:

i wish everyone the best of luck!!!!

we can do this....we will do this.

Hey I_Love_My_Job.

I read that you are using Exam Cram... How to do like it so far? After reading your post I started looking at it myself. It seems to have some really good things which other books don't. I already have done Kaplan too and need a quick review of some topics. I am really interested in the CAT that they say they have....

Oh and by the way... we are NCLEX twins.... I am also taking my exam on July 3rd :D Can't lie I am freaking out just a bit.

Chigirl,

I've only done about 300 questions so far with Exam Cram. The book recommends to do "three passes" before going to the exam (part 3). I'll get done as much as possible this weekend and take a trial test Monday. So far I like the book.

I'm feeling stressed too, but Wednesday all I will do is review labs, no questions. I am getting so sick of the ????
