Greetings Everyone!
I know this is early to make a thread for the Fall 2011 Hopkins Applicants! But still, it is better to start getting ready than waiting at the last minute! I highly suggest everyone start getting your letters of recommendations, and just hide it until you are ready to apply. I will be applying and submitting my application around September 2010 as an early decision applicant for Fall 2011.
I have to finish up Anatomy and Physiology I and II, Developmental Psychology, and one more chemistry class this coming Summer 2010. During the Fall of 2010 and Spring 2011, I will be finishing up just general requirements like history, Microbiology, English Composition, Statistics, some foreign languages, and humanities (elective classes).
I will be applying for the BSN Traditional Program considering I do not have a degree, thus, I am not qualified to apply for the accelerated program. I'm really excited about this.
I will only be applying to UPenn and Johns Hopkins University for my BSN traditional program. If I do not get accepted, I will be attending my current university's school of nursing. I am already in the university's nursing program, but I don't start clinical preceptorship until 2 years from now.
I will graduate May 2013 regardless where I go. Either JHU or UPenn or stay at my current university.
If I will be accepted at either JHU or UPenn, then definitely I will be attending those schools! I love nursing research, and I want to learn more about research and providing quality care to our patients.
We will see how it will go. I have six months until I submit my application to both schools. Remember time is running fast.
Hope everyone are doing well on their pre-requisites! Good luck to all!
Feel free to post around so we can help each other for Fall 2011! I've read the thread for the JHU Fall 2010. I've noticed everyone in that thread got accepted, and some waitlisted! Its a good sign!
Have a wonderful day!

Wow, thank you snguy! All the information you provided has been very helpful. I might consider using Amtrak Express to haul my things over to Baltimore. I am from Northern California, about 30 miles away from San Francisco. I'm both nervous and excited about Hopkins. More importantly, I'm trying to find a way to pay for tuition and other expenses! Congratulations to you too, snguy, for getting accepted into Hopkins! I applied for the Traditional program.
Oh yay! We will be in the same cohort than! Will you be going to accepted students day in April? And I totally know what you mean about financing for Hopkins and being both nervous and excited! I kinda have an idea of what to expect, yet I don't! It sure is a very exciting time for us though! I actually created a FB page for us too(Johns Hopkins University *Traditional Nursing Class of 2013*) You are more than welcome to join and introduce yourself :) So far I'm really the only one that has put out an effort to do so
Best of luck moving! I know I'm probably gonna have to rent a zip car once I get there to schelp all my things and for ikea/target/grocery runs!
Depends on your program. I was accepted to the traditional BSN, and accepted students day is on April 8th. (Anyone going?)
As for the MSN decisions: I spoke to an admissions counselor on the phone today. (I'm on the edge of my seat for this decision one because I'm trying to decide between Yale and Hopkins). She told me that admissions will be made at the end of the week this week and I can look forward to getting a phone call after that.
Hey Just.keep.swimming!
I am going to the April 8th acceptance day too. :) Good luck with Yale!
I've been contemplating between UCLA's MECN program and JH trad especially since I've lived in Cali all my life. Do you know how well JH helps you out when it comes out to tuition? I've never really lived in the east coast and I really don't know Baltimore... Is Baltimore really that shady?
Sai A, want to arrange some time to talk online?
I feel like there's a lot I want to share with you because I've been in CA all my life as well (and I'm very proud of it) and being a UCLA undergrad got me pretty acquainted with MECN. Perhaps it could help to have someone who is evaluating JHU from a similar background...
Hi Y'all!
I am really hoping to make it to the Traditional Admitted Students Day on the 8th. I'm coming from the West Coast and as I look down the road at a gazillion dollars in tuition debt I'm trying to make the trip as economical as possible. :)
Is there anyone who would want to split a hotel room for the weekend? Or might have a couch that I could crash on?

I would be interested in hearing your thought as well! Potential applicant here who loves the sun and not a fan of snow! haha
