Johns Hopkins University BSN/MSN Fall 2011

Published

Greetings Everyone!

I know this is early to make a thread for the Fall 2011 Hopkins Applicants! But still, it is better to start getting ready than waiting at the last minute! I highly suggest everyone start getting your letters of recommendations, and just hide it until you are ready to apply. I will be applying and submitting my application around September 2010 as an early decision applicant for Fall 2011.

I have to finish up Anatomy and Physiology I and II, Developmental Psychology, and one more chemistry class this coming Summer 2010. During the Fall of 2010 and Spring 2011, I will be finishing up just general requirements like history, Microbiology, English Composition, Statistics, some foreign languages, and humanities (elective classes).

I will be applying for the BSN Traditional Program considering I do not have a degree, thus, I am not qualified to apply for the accelerated program. I'm really excited about this.

I will only be applying to UPenn and Johns Hopkins University for my BSN traditional program. If I do not get accepted, I will be attending my current university's school of nursing. I am already in the university's nursing program, but I don't start clinical preceptorship until 2 years from now.

I will graduate May 2013 regardless where I go. Either JHU or UPenn or stay at my current university.

If I will be accepted at either JHU or UPenn, then definitely I will be attending those schools! I love nursing research, and I want to learn more about research and providing quality care to our patients.

We will see how it will go. I have six months until I submit my application to both schools. Remember time is running fast.

Hope everyone are doing well on their pre-requisites! Good luck to all!

Feel free to post around so we can help each other for Fall 2011! I've read the thread for the JHU Fall 2010. I've noticed everyone in that thread got accepted, and some waitlisted! Its a good sign!

Have a wonderful day!

I still haven't heard yet either. I do think there are quite a few of us...and annoyingly I left my phone home today! I'm really anxious :)

I just got a phone call regarding my acceptance into the Traditional Second Degree BSN! They said the MSN decision might come next week. JHSON is so expensive so it will definitely come down to Financial Aid, but I'm just going to hold a good thought and hope for the best.

Best of luck to those still waiting to hear!

Congrats to everyone who has gotten in and fingers crossed for those of you still waiting! I just got my acceptance call for the 2nd degree traditional BSN an hour ago! ! :-D I didn't apply for the MSN option. Just thought I'd post on the forum so u'd know they were making those calls now, too.

Now I just have to worry about getting a B or better in this chem class!! :/

Hey guys! I am new to this forum. I just received a voice-mail from my interviewer saying that I was accepted into the Traditional Second Degree BSN Program for Fall 2011! They have not made a decision for the MSN portion yet. Good luck to those who are still waiting! Hang in there.

yay! congrats to all your traditional BSNers! Hope I get a call soon!

Oh my goodness! Congrats to all of you guys that have been accepted into the trad program! yay! Such a great feeling huh! It still hasn't sunk in for me yet! I created a facebook page for us you can search for it by entering

Johns Hopkins University *Traditional Nursing Class of 2013*

I've started a discussion page and what not :)

Congrats again! :D :D Hope more people will get calls tomorrow!

Hello!

I received my acceptance letter for traditional entry BSN Fall 2011 in my e-mail today! I am living abroad as of now, hence the letter and not the call. Wow, what a relief! Hopefully the news about the MSN will indeed be coming next week. That was my first acceptance letter for nursing school, and I was ecstatic when I realized that I finally have a chance to pursue my dream! :redbeathe Congrats to everyone accepted, and keep optimistic for those who do not yet know!

Lets keep each other posted on when we hear about the Master's decision ;)

If any of you have the opportunity to attend a cheaper public school, I'd choose that option! You're definitely buying a name with Hopkins because the education is second rate and the experience is sub-par. I wish someone would have had the courage to tell me this last year; this isn't just my opinion. I'd venture to say close to 2/3 of the people, especially in the accelerated class are just as disappointed. I'm normally a very positive person but this place has killed my spirit. And yes, I am a very good student, so this isn't the rantings of someone with poor grades and bad work ethic.

Hi disappointed_11,

I was really looking forward to Johns Hopkins Nursing program. What was it specifically about the program that disappointed you??

i still haven't heard about either the bsn or the msn... anybody in the same situation? its frustrating since admitted students day is this friday... so even if i was accepted, i couldn't attend even if i wanted to since making travel plans this late from california would be really difficult.

I haven't heard about MSN, but have been accepted to two other BSN/MSN programs and am pretty ready to commit to one of those. Best of luck to everyone at hopkins!

Hi Disappointed -

I'm sorry you're not happy in the program. Could you elaborate a little on your experience? What specifically has led you to believe the education is not comparable to other schools? I think those of us considering Hopkins would all like to know.

Thanks for sharing,

C.
