  1. Does anyone know by what date we have to put a deposit down to hold our spot? I know I'm in, but I still haven't received an acceptance letter with all the details and I was too excited to remember to ask my admissions counselor such questions. Doh! I know I could call, but didn't want to bother admissions if someone knew on this forum. Thanks in advance!
  2. I'll be going to the Shady Grove campus...unless Hopkins offers me an insane amount of $$ (not holding my breath). Looking forward to meeting everyone on accepted students day! =) Hoping those who haven't heard anything yet, hear back soon!
  3. Wahoo!! The wait is finally over! Just received my acceptance call 10 mins ago! =) Congrats Abby T! Which campus did u apply to?
  4. Congrats to everyone who has gotten in and fingers crossed for those of you still waiting! I just got my acceptance call for the 2nd degree traditional BSN an hour ago! ! :-D I didn't apply for the MSN option. Just thought I'd post on the forum so u'd know they were making those calls now, too. Now I just have to worry about getting a B or better in this chem class!! :/
  5. hey Je88, Good to know someone else is in the same boat! Was wondering where all the trad BSN (without MSN) people were! :) I haven't heard anything back about an interview yet. Haven't gone through the past year's threads yet, but when I have time to I will. I'm not really expecting to get in though as JHU was sorta a reach for me. I think I have a strong application, but I know this is one of the top 5 nursing schools in the States. Wishing you and anyone else reading the best of luck! Lets (trad BSN, non accelerated, without MSN option) all update the forum with any news we hear!
  6. CONGRATULATIONS on your acceptance, Bayeux! :yelclap: And thanks for letting us know. :) Did anyone else on the forum just apply for regular decision BSN (non-accelerated and without MSN option)? Are we supposed to be finding out now, too? Our apps weren't due until Jan 15th, so I wasn't expecting to be notified this early. Just wondering....
  7. This is my first time writing on the forum, but I've been reading various threads about UMD for awhile now. I'm applying to the Shady Grove campus to avoid the costly commute. I was just wondering how you guys thought the TEAS went, if you already took it? I'm set to take version V this week and am kind of stressed out about it. I took time off after I got my first BA and am worried I've forgotten a lot of the material that's covered on the test. I'm also terrible at taking standardized tests. :/ At the info session, they told us most students who are accepted get scores in the mid-80s to 90s. Seems like a very competitive score on a standardized test. How did you guys do? Did you take version IV or V? Do you know how important this grade is to our application? Good luck to everyone applying!
  8. this school sounds like a scam if i ever did hear one!! 130,000+ in debt?!? r u serious? You aren't going to be able to pay that back any time soon!! I don't care if u're a nurse, u have other ish to pay without having to worry about $130,000 ! wow. I know it sounds appealing- no waiting list, no pre-req's for bsn, and super quick, but it IS too good to be true. First off, their tuition has only increased $6,000 in the last 2 years...so in the next few years it takes to finish your degree, u'll be racking up MORE debt! They also haven't graduated a bsn class yet- they're brand new! Since they're a for-profit school, they could technically stop offering classes one day and you would be stuck with classes that don't transfer anywhere in a PILE of debt. Think lonnng and hard on this one. All that glitters is not gold.

i have to admit this school does sound a little shady after reading all those negative reviews. On to the next one...
