Johns Hopkins 2015 ABSN & Masters Entry

Published

This thread is for applicants applying to Johns Hopkins, for either the ABSN or the new Master's Entry program. I've searched a few times and haven't found a thread for this year's admissions cycle, so I decided to start one.

After lots of thinking, I decided to apply to the Master's Entry instead of the ABSN. Anyone else out there applying?

Which specialization are looking at? Good Luck !!!

Hi guys/gals, I'm applying for the direct entry MSN for FNP. Doesn't seem like there are as many of us out there? Or maybe we're all busy with finalizing the apps!

Hi fpjc, there is no direct entry MSN for FNP. There's only the Master's Entry - which leads to a RN licensure - and the ABSN program.

I think after completion of the Master's Entry, we would then go on to complete additional schooling for the NP training and certification.

Yes, elefant3, you are correct. I meant to say Master's Entry, I just keep mixing up the names since it's a bit different for every school and they all call it something different!

No worries. I was just making sure that I hadn't missed something! (I was a little sad that they did do away with their BSN/MSN program this year).

I applied to the ABSN. Any RPCV's in this thread? I'm so nervous...

I also applied to the ABSN program, and I'm also very nervous. (I'm not a RPCV)

I read in threads from previous years that Early Decision people were notified in mid-December... does anyone know if that's still the case?

Good luck to everyone!

Thought 11/1 was a firm deadline

11/1 was the priority deadline I believe. You can still submit your application but you are only considered if seats are still available. I read that on the admissions deadline page.

Ahh, got it. Thanks for clarifying. I must have gotten Hopkins confused with a different school.

i read online that they're phasing out the ABSN program and the summer 2015 cohort will be the last one.

Yep that's right lagirl. I went to the info session back in October and they confirmed this.
