This thread is for applicants applying to Johns Hopkins, for either the ABSN or the new Master's Entry program. I've searched a few times and haven't found a thread for this year's admissions cycle, so I decided to start one.
After lots of thinking, I decided to apply to the Master's Entry instead of the ABSN. Anyone else out there applying?
For the ones on the wait-list: I called and asked what is next! They told me that on April 1st they will start sorting the applications of the ones on the list again.
After review them, they will wait and see how many people drops off so they can offer those spots to the ones that have make it to the second round.
I've been accepted into another ABSN, but Hopkins is my first choice. Pls, share thoughts and fears.

Is this just for the BSN students since your deadline is April 1st? The masters program I believe isn't till May first so I am assuming we won't hear till after that.
As for your acceptance I would say take the spot all you have to lose is the money of your deposit, but it is worth it because you would hate to let the spot go and then not get into Hopkins. I have commited to another school and am waitlisted for the masters program.
I spoke to admissions and It is very hard to get off there waitlist. I know of a nursing student who was number 7 last year and didn't get place. I also know of a PHD student who was number 2 on the waitlist and was not pulled off about 2 years ago.
I say don't take the gamble it is not bad to wait and see but nothing is certain so reserve that spot just so you have somewhere to go and you can atleast start working towards your goals even if it is not at hopkins I know that is sad to think about.
I accepted a place at Lynchburg College in VA for a BSN. I had originally looked at the school as an undergrad decided to attend Loyola University instead. When the nursing program at my school was dissolved I decided to pursue second degree programs, I wanted to have both degrees because I am looking to work in nursing hopefully more on a research side, clinical trials, ect. So the biology degree with help with that. The choice wasn't easy but finically it was best and also for reasons of being close to my family and boyfriend.
It might not have a name like Johns Hopkins but for me it will make me just as happy and that is what is important. I get a lot of flack for "taking" a step down, but I believe everything happens for a reason. I also wanted to attend a school with religious affiliation :)
From what I am gathering from reading this blog is that the ones that got accepted received an email and phone call. The ones that got wait listed or rejected are receiving mail. Seems like a lot of people on here already got accepted. I haven't heard anything either so that might not be a good sign. Congrats to those who got in!!

@snailszy yeah I'm absn. That's probably why it included grants.
