I was suspended from my job last week and was told there would be an internal investigation. ( co-sign discrepancy)I’m trying to get a job ASAP. I’m so nervous the places I’m applying are going to reach out to my job and they’ll say things that will affect me getting the job. Has anyone ever been in this situation? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. TY

A termination could be contested (as in wrongful termination) and you could still be considered eligible for unemployment benefits.
Now things may have changed over the years.
These are general rules of thumb. The empl dept people will also say that there are circumstances where they will rule in the ex employee’s favor at a hearing. But you have to request the hearing if you want your chance.
Hi, I haven’t gotten a job yet. I’ve had a few interviews but nothing confirmed. My biggest fear is that they’re reaching out to my old employer. I’ve given references using the charge nurse as a supervisor verses the manager. I just want to work and fear I’ve been black listed.
How about you? We’re you able to find work?
I wish you the best

Can I send you a personal message?

I can tell you when I was under investigation I was able to work at DaVita for months. I was able to work up until the day that BON took an actual action on my license. So keep looking and hang in there.

CONGRATS!!
Enjoy the fact you are working again. IF the BON contacts you, get a lawyer ASAP.
You're supposed to be innocent until proven guilty. However, as many have said, even if places shouldn't say ill of prior workers some do. Why not spend a bit and have a check your reference place call your place of work and get a reference check. Then you'll know exactly what they said.
Search under "check your reference." I think when I did it, it cost $40 and was well worth it knowing that I received a fair reference.
