Hello all!
I am so glad I was directed to this discussion forum. I believe it is a great place to share and learn. I am extremely interested in Jefferson's FACT program. I plan to apply for May 2012. I just wanted to reach out to anyone with similar interest and your thoughts on the process. I would like to know who else plans to apply for May 2012 and if your pre-req's have been completed.
Just to share a little about myself, I am completing my BS in Public Health at an online University (3 weeks left!) and have all the pre-req's completed. I am just excited about this next journey.
I also love how Jefferson FACT students automatically are accepted into the MSN program. My goal is to become a Women's Health NP, and Jefferson seems to be the way to go.
I would also love to hear from current students as well.
Thanks, you are right, it was silly to trust this guy. Also, in the past I had gone through the process here in PA and I did not have to notarize, but hey what do I know. Anyway I got it notarized today and will be out in the mail tomorrow. I added a receipt from Cogent showing that the fingerprints were done electronically.
Have a good week Shhr
Steillare: I received my pre-req. agreement form as a word.doc attachment in an e-mail from Ms. Kelley couple of hours after my interview (my last pre-req. class was listed on the form). The medical form (Tier I) is here: Student Services - Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals - follow the link in the second paragraph. Also, for the drug test, I would actually call my assigned Quest lab location to confirm my appt. I scheduled mine on the Quest lab website and received a confirmation and a reminder but when I showed up they said they couldn't help (they were temporary staff and didn't have required passwords)! I had to run back home to get my car and find another location nearby (I did not have an appointment there, so I had to wait for a while...) - today I can laugh about this.
You can also see our schedule/academic calendar here: :: Thomas Jefferson University :: University Office of the Registrar ::
You are absolutely right: pre-matriculation requirements are overwhelming. I was actually hoping to relax and take it easy before May. Instead I am running around getting shots and tests and fingerprints...
Congratulations! We have made it so far, we can get through this and start the really tough part - classes.
thanks Emg2008 for sending the link for the academic calendar. i've been hunting for that link and never found it!
for the people relocating, will you be staying on campus or off campus? if off, how is your apt hunting going? it's really getting down to the wire! January is almost gone! time is just flying and before we know it, May is here!!
Another question..
For the background chk, child abuse clearance, drug text and fingerprinting, how is everyone completing this requirement?
Should I order the package for $95 from Jefferson's link to the AmercianData bank? I just want to check with everyone before going ahead and pay, pay, and pay.

Hiya mrscreixell,
The fingerprint card is a standard FBI form that most fingerprinting places have on hand I think, so if you lose or damage the card you can get a replacement.
There are two other forms that come with the finger-printing card for the FBI background check. They don't really have anything to do with the people who do fingerprinting, but rather are releases for this company who is gathering our background information for Jefferson. As far as notarizing, from what I remember, that form is basically giving permission for American Databank to receive your personal information from the FBI, and a notary just checks to make sure you are the person signing the form to release that information. I hope that was clear and answers your question...but I would call the American Databank if you have any questions or concerns about the form needing to be notarized or about the process at all. I would not disregard instructions based on information from someone who has no familiarity with this specific process or American Databank.
Good luck finishing up this rather extensive process!
