Jefferson FACT 2012

Published

Hello all!

I am so glad I was directed to this discussion forum. I believe it is a great place to share and learn. I am extremely interested in Jefferson's FACT program. I plan to apply for May 2012. I just wanted to reach out to anyone with similar interest and your thoughts on the process. I would like to know who else plans to apply for May 2012 and if your pre-req's have been completed.

Just to share a little about myself, I am completing my BS in Public Health at an online University (3 weeks left!) and have all the pre-req's completed. I am just excited about this next journey.

I also love how Jefferson FACT students automatically are accepted into the MSN program. My goal is to become a Women's Health NP, and Jefferson seems to be the way to go.

I would also love to hear from current students as well.

climberchick, I have an idea of who you are, but I'm not certain. Anyway, you've done an absolutely PERFECT job of summing up important details. The new class will find these details incredibly helpful!

has anyone who applied for the 2nd admissions review period for the fall 2012 FACT program heard anything back from Jefferson? Have they contacted anyone asking for pre-reqs?

Thanks!!!

for those in philadelphia:

i just got fingerprints at the rosa truck on callowhill between 15-16th for $20. also, for those who need notarizing, i can notarize your stuff for free in center city or south philly :D hmmm, as far as contacting me....message me on here or email me at [email protected]!

also found out that upennpd does fingerprinting for $10 by appointment only from what i read...their number is :[color=#333333] 215-898-7252

@ barbiemafia- My application was submitted at the very beginning of the second review. I spoke to Niki Kelley about a week ago and she informed me that they were just starting to review the second round apps.

Does anyone have any advice for the interview? What kind of questions do they ask? I'm kind of nervous and excited at the same time!

Do you know when they will let us know about interviews? It must be soon as we are supposed to get out final decisions by march 1st....Has anyone contacted you asking for fall semester's final grades?

@ barbiemafia-- I spoke to Niki Kelley a week ago to verify that she received my updated transcript showing my pre-req grades from Fall 2011. Jefferson didn't send me an e-mail asking for these grades so I sent them myself to NursingCAS. These were the last set of grades that needed to be sent in as all my pre-reqs are now complete. If you haven't mailed in an updated transcript with grades for Fall, I suggest you do that asap as she hinted that decisions are usually given once most, if not, all pre-req grades are in. Also, once NursingCAS receives your updated transcript, call Niki and ask her to check to make sure she has them. I did that with her and she was able to see that NursingCAS updated my transcript and Jefferson could now access it.

I spoke to her today because I was invited to interview via e-mail yesterday. She said she sent out about a hundred interview invites. She didn't say whether that was the total number of interview invites she has sent out since first round apps or whether that was for second round applicants only. She said she's been very busy interviewing people all day and making/sending out decisions. At this point, it's really a waiting game. I've been waiting anxiously since Jan 1st and I'm only just hearing back. So it's very possible that you may hear back soon as well. Just make sure to get those Fall grades in soon! Hope you hear some good news soon!! :)

Omg I feel like a huge idiot.... I just assumed that if Jeff wanted my grades they would notify me....One of the other programs notified me as soon as the semester was over that they wanted my grades, and for the other program I applied to I dont even think they need them to make their decision....

aww don't! The admissions process is not very clear esp. because we have to go thru a middle-man (NursingCAS) to submit everything. I think this is the first year Jeff used NursingCAS so they are pretty new to the whole system, which makes it confusing for everyone. I guess each program is different but it probably makes admissions decisions easier when they can see most of your pre-req grades. Where else did you apply?

Good luck ladies! Ash the interview was very laid back. She us very easy to talk to. It is more like a conversation than an interview. The questions she asks are very basic. Know why you chose this school. Make sure you write down any questions you may have.

Ok so just to clarify for anyone who is still confused.... If Jeff wants your fall grades, you will receive an email from admissions in the form of a PDF file asking for them. I just got my official email today, they have just started evaluating the 2nd review applications.

Thanks nishtari! How soon after the interview did you receive a decision? I know second round applicants can receive a decision up until March 1 but I hope it's sooner than that!

I found out quickly, the next day. Others going out quickly as well.
