January CEP applicants?

Hi fellow students! I am applying to the CEP program for the Summer 2016 start (NAU)- I know the deadline is coming up January 30... just wondering who else is applying/has applied, and how you're feeling? Excited to start? Nervous you won't get accepted (like ME!)? Just wanted to say "hi" and get connected! :yes:

Hi jessjo3 - I got my GCC acceptance letter on February 24th.

ughhh. my advisors are taking forever and year to get back to me. I am going crrrrazy.

I also set up my account with NAU online, and just selected the spring option. I figure it will all work out anyways as you will at least be in the system for them to find you. Not much info was given to us on the acceptance letter so hopefully we hear back sometime soon.

I sent an e-mail about the NAU app to an advisor this morning and heard back. She advised to wait to be contacted by NAU, and no need to withdraw the app (even though I applied for the wrong semester :) ).

Has anyone heard back from GWCC on the next steps to apply to the CEP school yet? I turned in my acceptance letter on Monday. Still no word from the advisor at GCU, anybody else going to GCU?

I know when I contacted NAU this morning I received this response, not sure if this helps, but they may follow the same guidelines? :

NAU does not have a list of admitted students yet, but MaricopaNursing should be working on contacting the admitted students in the next couple of weeks. You should know of your admissions status before we do!

The NAU advising team will send out a welcome email to those admitted, with next steps, as soon as we know who you all are. J

Mine is NAU! Yes that's exactly what it said. Basically signing a contract that I understand x, y and z... Now I'm anxious to know the next steps!

I just got the clarifying email from NAU and I know that the advisers there are going to sign us up for all of our classes, but I was a bit confused on the classes. I was originally placed at my second choice PVCC, but the following day I was called by the nursing director at GCC and she said they had a spot for me. Since it was my first choice, I took it. But I had both contracts so I compared them and the classes were different. Surly we will all take the same amount of NAU classes for the same degree right? I was just confused.

The PVCC contract lists NUR307 and NUR330 to complete during summer

The GCC contract lists NUR 307 lecture and lab, NUR321 and NUR330

What do your contracts say? Also, does anybody know if these classes are online or in person? I only ask bc one class lists a lab and I dont think you can do lab online? what are your guys' thoughts?

I got the GCC contract and yes, it says the lab and lecture and then the other class. I think one class is online and the other two are in person, the lab is in person. Not sure about the order of classes. I would imagine we all get the same education possibly in a different order.

Take a look at the NAU course of study info that is posted on the Maricopa Nursing site. NUR321 and NUR330 would be done over the summer only if you were doing the fast track option. NUR330 is the only course you would need to take over the summer if you were taking the traditional course of study via the CEP. NUR321 is scheduled for the spring semester and NUR307 with the lab is scheduled for the upcoming fall semester. I am only basing this off of the 17 page pdf, page 7 in particular.
