Welcome.... This is a thread created for January 2014 Broward College students and others who are interested in there ADN program. We all have so many questions and concerns about the program.
We are 7-8 months away from sitting in the first class of the January 2014 nursing program. What have you been doing to prepare for this? What pre-req's do you have left to take? What inspired you to become a nurse? Is BC your first school of chose? Are there any other programs your interested in?
I bought my uniforms today. I need 2 more pants though. Orientation packet for south will be ready in December. The lady in the bookstore told me to wait to buy my books, and to only buy what's in the packet. Because the books are hard to get a refund for and they try to give you used prices back as well. I'm just saying what the lady said. I'm still buying my Perry Potter though.
Hi, everybody! I am months late also but I will be attending South campus in January. Very excited! Just turned in all my required documents this morning (physical, vaccines, titers, certifications, etc.) Nice to meet everyone.
I would like to join a study group Fearless Leader. I have always found study groups helpful to encourage one another. I do have to agree with you though only serious people I want to have in my group also.
Anyone wants to form a study group inbox me. I plan to meetup by December. (South Campus) serious students only. No slackers, or bloodsuckers wanted.
Does anyone know if Perry Potter come with a code? I'm also trying to buy my Pharmacology book through Amazon does anyone know what book south uses for that one.
Has anyone heard when financial aid/scholarship/loan awards will be posted? I'm starting to get a little nervous.
The funds will be available 12/9 when class payments are due (so they say). If your able to get things you can afford out of pocket, then do so until they decide what their going to do.
Does anyone know what books are needed the most during the first semester. I'm paying out of pocket for everything & I'm really trying to cut costs by ordering books through Amazon etc. I know Perry Potter is one but is the Clinical Nursing Skills technique another book I should purchase?

Yes and don't forget the drug guide, lab and diagnostic tests book and the physical assessment book.
