Welcome.... This is a thread created for January 2014 Broward College students and others who are interested in there ADN program. We all have so many questions and concerns about the program.
We are 7-8 months away from sitting in the first class of the January 2014 nursing program. What have you been doing to prepare for this? What pre-req's do you have left to take? What inspired you to become a nurse? Is BC your first school of chose? Are there any other programs your interested in?
Wasn't to sure of how they would fit so I brought one set of scrub. I initially tried the top in medium and it fit just right, so l got a large instead. I want to be comfortable and professional rather then 'Hello Nurse' type of way. That being said I purchased the large top and draw string bottom. I was thinking about purchasing a white polo shirt, but wasn't to sure.
So does anyone know how we go about making copies of the fingerprinting receipt for the binder/folder since all the info is in a sealed envelope? thanks
When I went to do my finger printing they gave me back three things a receipt showing u paid the 60$ and a paper you signed there and the seal envelope . Do not open the envelope take it to the school the way it was given to you, we have enough fees to pay , last thing u want is to pay 60$ so that Broward can tell u "we will not accept it because it has been opened" make photo copies of the other two things they give.
I was told to open up the envelope by Central.. they said it was just another receipt and they don't know why they started to put them in envelopes. I made copies, handed it in, and the woman checked it off. So it was fine :)
How many uniforms(scrubs) did everyone purchase? and how many blue polos?Does financial aid cover uniforms at the book store? If not, i may as well buy them now.
Uniforms are covered by Financial Aid so is your stethoscope, pen light etc. are as well. Also I'm buying 3 uniforms that's it for now. No polos for me I don't want any confusion with that. (I would be the one to wear them on a clinical day) lol.

Just bought my uniforms today. I asked the cashier about financial aid. She said financial aid will be available around the 9th of December. So I just payed out of pocket.
You going to south campus right? Do you know if the orientation packet is ready?

Has anyone purchased uniforms? The sizes run pretty big. I'm having a hard time finding anything that fits me
