Welcome.... This is a thread created for January 2014 Broward College students and others who are interested in there ADN program. We all have so many questions and concerns about the program.
We are 7-8 months away from sitting in the first class of the January 2014 nursing program. What have you been doing to prepare for this? What pre-req's do you have left to take? What inspired you to become a nurse? Is BC your first school of chose? Are there any other programs your interested in?
Don't be shy. Don't lurk. Share your thoughts.
Question. I noticed the uniform scrub tops at the central campus book store say "broward college associate degree nursing" but there are other scrubs like the ones at south that say "broward college rn program"in a circular logo. Which ones do we get? I don't want to get the wrong top and get sent home. I noticed on the broward college rn website the student nurses are wearing the "circular logo" tops. But why are other different tops on sale in the bookstore???

On my campus they wear both.
Besides your Mandatory supply list is their anything special you would buy as supplements or extras.
Well here is my list
1.) Pearsons Reviews & Rationales (I read great reviews on this series, I bought a few)
2.) clipboard with calculator
3.) Littman SE II sethescope (engraved)
4.) Hemostats & Bandage scissors
5.) a few multi colored pens (it's 1pen with multiple colors)
6. UniCalendar
7.) the infamous rolling bookbag
8.)Tylenol/Xanax seriously
I would not use my Apple products for several reasons what if I forget my phone/I touch. In addition what if I forget to charge them, or what if we can't use them in the hospital. My hospital BG now BH has a new policy that we can talk on our cell phones in the hospital, nor do they want to see them. So stupid... Be careful to those of you doing rotations there. The little old lady will get you.
I'm sure I'll add more that's just me I love organization.

You forgot penlight. You can use tablets for lecture and they really do help when it comes to the possibility of losing papers. I use my tablet in Psych and I don't need to print ALL those slides. To use my phone in emergencies I would walk to the restroom and call the person back. BH wasn't as bad as I thought. Now, Psych? You don't even carry a pencil, in case you drop it. Geez. Also drug book. Omg. That is a LIFE SAVER. :) I've been absent studying for Psych because this is ridiculously HARD.

So do we include a copy of the receipt and envelop to give to the department with the rest of our papers or just the envelop and keep the receipt for our records?
