January 2014 Broward College

Published

Welcome.... This is a thread created for January 2014 Broward College students and others who are interested in there ADN program. We all have so many questions and concerns about the program.

We are 7-8 months away from sitting in the first class of the January 2014 nursing program. What have you been doing to prepare for this? What pre-req's do you have left to take? What inspired you to become a nurse? Is BC your first school of chose? Are there any other programs your interested in?

Don't be shy. Don't lurk. Share your thoughts.

We are not suppose to open the envelop. Does anyone know a good shoes brand? I want something comfortable..

I use Nurse Mates. They're sneakers without the laces or Velcro. You slip them on and they're SO comfy. :)

I saw the nurse mates..which model do you have?

You are not supposed to open the envelop. In the orientation she specifically said to bring the sealed envelop with the rest of the paper work

Can we turn in our binders before the campus orientation? my email for north said to bring it that day.. Also i read we open the sealed fingerprint envelope.. did anyone do that yet im scared.[/quote']

Don't open it!! Lol she stressed it at the the pre admission meeting. It's sealed for a reason :)

I went today to do my background test. However... The girl didn't press the seal on my envelope all the way. Meaning the sticker she put on the back was not pressed down at all. So I took a look, and all it is a another letter stating you paid for the test and it just looks like a different reciept. That's all. No criminal or non criminal info is on it. So don't freak out about it.

Exactly... And besides the email from North Campus specifically states to OPEN the sealed envelope, put the original in the binder and copies in the folder. If I could attach it to this post, I would. Regardless of what was stressed in the pre-admission meeting, each campus has specific instructions on how to submit the documents.

When I did mine Saturday, my envelope was given back to me the same way you described.

Well mine was sealed and I turned my documents in last week.. No issues. Like the previous poster stated, every campus might be diff.

Has anyone turned in paperwork at central campus yet? Was just wondering what sort of folder you used...?

I turned in my documents today at central they just take the documents and put it in a file they have already for you with your name. So don't worry about having a folder to turn in your docs, but it's a good idea to have one to keep all your records organized, I do.

We only have to turn in the forms for submission right? Not the portfolio?
