Welcome.... This is a thread created for January 2014 Broward College students and others who are interested in there ADN program. We all have so many questions and concerns about the program.
We are 7-8 months away from sitting in the first class of the January 2014 nursing program. What have you been doing to prepare for this? What pre-req's do you have left to take? What inspired you to become a nurse? Is BC your first school of chose? Are there any other programs your interested in?

When I turned in my documents to central they just took my documents not the whole portfolio not sure if its different for north and south[/quote']The portfolio is what you'll be showing your clinical professors every rotation. They will check to see that all of your documents are still up to date. Otherwise you cannot continue clinicals. :)
I'm at NORTH campus and it doesn't state to open the fingerprint envelop. ONLY to submit the receipt, a copy and the original. They repeated it SEVERAL times at pre-adm NOT to open the envelop. They're sealed for a reason. Below is a copy of the email from North campus.

NOTE: ALL certifications must have a valid FLORIDA BOARD OF NURSING PROVIDER NUMBER printed on the certificate.
Please make sure to remove fingerprinting receipt from envelope. Place original in binder and copy in folder.
**There is a sample binder located in building 41 room 104 for your aid in preparing your portfolio**
