January 2014 Broward College

Published

Welcome.... This is a thread created for January 2014 Broward College students and others who are interested in there ADN program. We all have so many questions and concerns about the program.

We are 7-8 months away from sitting in the first class of the January 2014 nursing program. What have you been doing to prepare for this? What pre-req's do you have left to take? What inspired you to become a nurse? Is BC your first school of chose? Are there any other programs your interested in?

Don't be shy. Don't lurk. Share your thoughts.

A success plan usually just means that there are extra classes that you need in order to graduate with the AS degree. I had one.

I dont know why I have Accepted With Success Plan. I just graduated at Broward with my AA degree with a B avg, got an 89% over all score on the HESI, I had a program GPA of 3.5. I just dont get it.

HAs anyone with Accepted With Success Plan failed A&P 1 or 2 and retook it? I did, but I got 2 A's and 2 B's after that.

Square wheels is basically a flat tire...Lol! I needed that laugh just to take my mind off of this lack of email situation. My degree audit only shows that I need to take the Nursing core. I have so many credits that I can share some. I have a feeling it has something to do with 2 section of the hesi that is below 80%. Anyway God is able.

My Hesi score was an 80, my GPA was 3.6, my total points was 14. Can someone tell me when all of our documents are due?

it was a misdemeanor charge that was dropped. I never went to court or anything. I'm so nervous :(

I wouldnt worry, you never got charged with anything. Maybe cal them tomorrow.

No. I graduated with my AA degree with a 3.5 GPA. I've never never failed anything. I have an overall 87% on my hesi and a 3.4 program GPA

@dwittman I did. I failed A&P 2lab with a red flag "F". 2nd time I got a B. I hope that's not the issue here. @Getting to Great I agree with you. My daddy sits up high & looks down low. He see me with those square wheels, but he picked me up turn me around & put my feet on solid ground. #my wheels are circular again. My God know his daughter crazy. I know sometimes he looks at me & just shakes his head. Lol....

Do you know what classes if you don't mind telling us @butterfly6890? And did it take forever to get your emails like we are?

Humanities, which I'm taking now while in the program :ohjoy: math and micro with lab.

@butterfly6890 Maybe Micro I'm in that now. I have humanities & the other perquisite as well. I don't know what is going on. I guess tomorrow will get those emails. I'm just a bit stress don't mind me square wheels & all. Lol Jj8830 Thanks I'll be fine.

Probably. You'll be fine. The emails should arrive before registration day.

You should be fine hopefully. But call tomorrow morning just to make sure. Things happen in life and people change they should understand. It's not like you're trying to get into the FBI lol. BUT CALL THE NURSING DEPT. And I believe in the papers we initialed at orientation it said anything with a " felony" is denied or something of that nature. Can't remember...But a misdemeanor is far from a felony.[/quote']

You need to call ASAP. I only know of one student who had his misdemeanor expunged and only then was he allowed to apply. Idk what your exact situation is but nursing schools don't usually accept people with criminal records. For good reason though... You should be fine if it was dropped. :)

MATH TEST TOMORROW! CRAPPING BRICKS HERE! Lol :)

MATH TEST TOMORROW! CRAPPING BRICKS HERE! Lol :)

Good luck... It sounds like those math tests get harder every semester. Lol

Lol. Not necessarily. It's just a pain getting a huge endorphin rush the first darn day.

Hi everyone,

It's been a long time since I've posted anything because I decided I wasn't going to apply this cycle. But it turns out I did! I turned in my official transcripts from FAU on Friday and took the HESI. I turned in my application yesterday.

As of this morning, my status was denied- transcripts not evaluated. Do any of you know how long it usually takes to get them evaluated? Registration is tomorrow right? I'm so stressed!
