January 2014 Broward College

Published

Welcome.... This is a thread created for January 2014 Broward College students and others who are interested in there ADN program. We all have so many questions and concerns about the program.

We are 7-8 months away from sitting in the first class of the January 2014 nursing program. What have you been doing to prepare for this? What pre-req's do you have left to take? What inspired you to become a nurse? Is BC your first school of chose? Are there any other programs your interested in?

Don't be shy. Don't lurk. Share your thoughts.

A success plan usually just means that there are extra classes that you need in order to graduate with the AS degree. I had one.

Hi guys I'm new here. I am freaking out. I got accepted into the program but I am worried about the background check. back when I was 18 I was arrested for domestic battery but the charges were dropped. Do you think this will hinder me from moving forward into the program?

You're no "misfit" don't think that way. If you were a "misfit" you would have gotten a declined status! Lol you'll be ok :) we'll all be okay :)

I don't know it depends if they charged it as a felony...and other stuff?? You might wanna call the nursing department. Depending on how long ago it was it might be nothing. But call just to make sure.

Do you know what classes if you don't mind telling us @butterfly6890? And did it take forever to get your emails like we are?

@butterfly6890 Maybe Micro I'm in that now. I have humanities & the other perquisite as well. I don't know what is going on. I guess tomorrow will get those emails. I'm just a bit stress don't mind me square wheels & all. Lol

Jj8830 Thanks

I'll be fine.

it was a misdemeanor charge that was dropped. I never went to court or anything. I'm so nervous :(

Square wheels is basically a flat tire...Lol! I needed that laugh just to take my mind off of this lack of email situation. My degree audit only shows that I need to take the Nursing core. I have so many credits that I can share some. I have a feeling it has something to do with 2 section of the hesi that is below 80%. Anyway God is able.

You should be fine hopefully. But call tomorrow morning just to make sure. Things happen in life and people change they should understand. It's not like you're trying to get into the FBI lol. BUT CALL THE NURSING DEPT. And I believe in the papers we initialed at orientation it said anything with a " felony" is denied, or something of that nature. Can't remember...But a misdemeanor is far from a felony.

Who received a status of, Accepted With Success Plan? Now that I am putting 2 & 2 together, I 'think' those who received that status are being separated from the bunch who only got Accepted; and they might have a particular campus just for that type...IJS. Be prepared. At this point I really don't care where I go...I just want to do well and pass.

I got Accepted With Success Plan. What does that mean?

I think it has something to do with hesi and/or gpa.
