Welcome.... This is a thread created for January 2014 Broward College students and others who are interested in there ADN program. We all have so many questions and concerns about the program.
We are 7-8 months away from sitting in the first class of the January 2014 nursing program. What have you been doing to prepare for this? What pre-req's do you have left to take? What inspired you to become a nurse? Is BC your first school of chose? Are there any other programs your interested in?
How do we confirm we are going to attend the orientation?
Just "reply" to the email stating that you are going to attend the pre-admission meeting. They will send you a confirmation email letting you know they received your reply.
Ah yes. I saw her at my campus (Central) having a meeting with some instructors and I thought to myself: "Go back to your nest please." She's VERY sarcastic and LOVES pulling out her phone and playing songs that depict what she wants to say to students. Some students walked up to her thinking she'd be somewhat personable and she whipped out her phone and played "Don't Kill My Vibe" while walking away. She also answered a student's question in the preadmission meeting with: "Ain't nobody got time for that." Then proceeded to play the loop remix of the lady saying those exact words. Smh. I refuse to believe this. REFUSE!! Lmao! A mess! Where did they get this lady?
I called Sheridan regarding the HSC core certificates and they are asking for $300!!! That is ridiculous!
it actually isnt. that includes the core class (which broward wants about 300 for alone), all the cert, and cpr. It actually comes out cheaper.
But if you took the core class through broward already, then you'd want to get the cert online separately. you can google florida nursing ceu for some great sites.
Hey congrats to everyone that got accepted. I just have a question. I noticed the day to register for classes for the winter term is Monday October 14.... Can we register? or do we have to wait for the pre-admission meeting?

Im sorry. Hopefully this will turn out well. Theres still time before class starts. They'll have another pre-admission meeting. Hang in there.
