Welcome.... This is a thread created for January 2014 Broward College students and others who are interested in there ADN program. We all have so many questions and concerns about the program.
We are 7-8 months away from sitting in the first class of the January 2014 nursing program. What have you been doing to prepare for this? What pre-req's do you have left to take? What inspired you to become a nurse? Is BC your first school of chose? Are there any other programs your interested in?
I always thought central was the hardest one? What are they saying about south?
No. Hardest is South. Easiest is North. My Central experience is that they are tough but they seem to care for the most part. My bf at South had so many stories to tell. Girl came 15 min late to clinical lab at school? Dean said: "See you in August." In central if you're late they make you write a 300 word essay. They won't crucify you for simple things like that. Central is a little more lenient. Plus, I get to wear my polo, jeans and crocs/sandals on theory days. South makes you wear uniform for ALL days. Meh. :)
Well my brothers friend who is in the program at south was over my house this weekend and he said the teachers are so rude. You can't even complain to the Dean because the Dean is one of the rude teachers. But then I've heard things about central too so idk
Ah yes. I saw her at my campus (Central) having a meeting with some instructors and I thought to myself: "Go back to your nest, please." She's VERY sarcastic and LOVES pulling out her phone and playing songs that depict what she wants to say to students. Some students walked up to her thinking she'd be somewhat personable and she whipped out her phone and played "Don't Kill My Vibe" while walking away. She also answered a student's question in the preadmission meeting with: "Ain't nobody got time for that." Then proceeded to play the loop remix of the lady saying those exact words. Smh. Unprofessional.

Wow..so maybe I should start considering going to central..how long after orientation do they open the registration?
Wow I can't believe that. I think I'm go to central now from what you and others have told me. I think I'll have a better chance there. Do u recommend any professors? Are there any I should stay away from?
