I beefed up my summer course load and plan to take MAT 118, COM 102, and IVY 104, all online. Anyone else taking these?
i was at the orientation as well. didn't meet any allnurses people, though. i'm not sure how i feel about summer classes for the asn. the summer session is ten weeks long vs. sixteen during a regular semester. a friend of mine is in the lpn program so she did the summer session last year and said it was pretty rough.another friend started the nursing program this fall and said that the introductory session was pretty helpful. gave her a better idea of what was expected in terms of dress, attendance, tardiness, etc. it also gave her a chance to meet the people in her group, i think.
how is everyone doing on their shots, drug tests, etc?
it was very cool to meet the allnurses people...we'll have to catch up with you in january!
i am, by nature, a procrastinator, so i started my stuff early. i picked up my uniforms yesterday and got my criminal background check results in the mail last week. i have bought all of the stuff that we need....and am now poor! i had my cpr certification already, and i work at a hospital, so i have most of my shots, but need the chicken pox and hepatitis vaccines. great thing is--they'll give them to me at work for free! yea! i have my appt for a physical next month. still searching for a cheap drug screen...anyone had any luck here????
only a couple more months of freedom left!!!!!
I got my Hep P and first TB test. Get the second on Monday. My doctor did a titer for measles, mumps, rubella, chicken pox, and I'll get those results when I go in on Monday for the TB. I still need to get my uniforms and criminal background. I'm taking the CPR class on December 22nd. I would have rather done it on a Saturday, but the 6th wasn't going to work out for me, and the next scheduled Saturday date was cutting it too close to the orientation date.

In Fort Wayne we have to have all of this stuff done by Friday or we loose our seat! We also have to have it all done before we can sign up for classes! And of course as soon as I got my acceptance letter I got really busy with school and work and had no time to start this stuff so I am scrambling to get it done now!! I finally have everything done, am taking my CPR class Thursday, got hooked up with a great place thanks to Imagine3200!!!! With everything that has been going on I forgot to go in and get my second part of my TB test read so I had to do it over!!!:angryfire Ugh! Anyway, they have our criminal records sent to school, so I am just hoping it is there!!!!
Good luck everyone!

i think you can get the drug screen done at immediate care for $75 or less.
I called the Dr.'s office......mantoux = TB test:specs:
Phew!!!! That is good, you had me freaking out that I forgot something and we have to have it in tomorrow!!! I am still worried, I went and checked yesterday and they still don't have my criminal history check, but my advisor told me to bring in my money order slip proving that I ordered it (which I kept, thank goodness!) and that should work. I just hope the chair will accept that if it is not it! Ugh! I am going to loose it!!!

OK I am such a LAME-O.
I wasn't going to do full time next semester because I couldn't find any fluff classes...but now I did. Spanish I and CINS 101.
I know that CINS will be a pretty easy A and I will probably do it in 8 weeks. I am very good with computers...
Has anyone taken Spanish I? I actually don't really consider it that fluff because I think it will be a great thing to brush up on my Spanish since its been so long. Any thoughts on it? It would be online as well.
I am also taking APHY 102 and ENGL 111.
Or maybe IVY 070? I am taking 105 in the summer...but this one is 3 credits and seems like it might be a help. Any ideas?
