I beefed up my summer course load and plan to take MAT 118, COM 102, and IVY 104, all online. Anyone else taking these?

Hopefully Indy sends their out soon since all the others have. I just dont wait well at all. Congrats to everyone that has gotten in so far!

I thought Indy didn't start mailings until May 30th.

Congrats to all of your who are getting acceptance letters!! That's great news, good for you!:yeah::up:

The papers say May 30 or before. Hopefully it's before.

I hope they don't keep changing requirements like that math one. I took calculus when I went to IU and my advisor when I signed up for my first pre-req wasn't sure if that would be an acceptable class. Why wouldn't it? It's higher than the requirements! I still need to talk to the nursing advisor to make sure I won't have to take another math class sometime. I mean, I could do it, but I sure don't want to!

Tnanks for the well wishes and congrats littlemamakt!!! :yeah:

I hope you girls in Indy get yours soon!!!

I had not heard anything about 111. It knd of irritates me, I was signed up for 118 and my advisor said that 118 wouldn't transfer for BSN. I took the 111 and that was the end of my overall 4.0. I had a tough teacher he only took grades for exams and quizzes. Some other girls I know with other instructors had their homework figured in and that helped cushion the grade. I ended up with a C, if I had gotten 2 more quesstions right on the final it would have been a B. Ugggh... I have a lot of regrets about that class. They are grandfathering people in someone said? Do they know how far back? Will it include our class?

I have some questions about immuniations. It looks like I will probably have to take them all again. GRRRR.. My mom did not have any records. According to her the dr. is dead. I contacted the school but, I am 40 and I don't think they required shot records. If they did {my mom doesn't remember) I will only have to get my hep, and that is no problem because my work offers it for free. I just never got around to getting it. unfortunately, our nurse is out on medical leave and won't be back until June, but I read you just have to have the 1st one done by the deadline, so I'll be ok on that.

Just wondering if anyone else had any ideas on what else I could do. I doubt there is anything but having a titer which when I called about was $300+ just for the MMR. The shot itself is $58 through the health dept. i guess I'll be getting the shot.

Not sure where you are from, but the Marion County Health Dept (i got mine at 21st and Arlington) it was quite a drive, but it cost $10 for ALL of the shots, hep b, mmr, etc...(not each, all together:))and then it was $5 for each of my TB shots. I didn't bother with titers because they were too expensive, I just got them all. You just have to tell them that you heard about it, and you need them for nursing school. I didn't have to prove I was poor, though I am

Thanks Coltsgirl, I am in Logansport so about 90 minutes from Indy. it would be quite a drive but I will keep it in mind. Is it just walk in? Our HD requires an appointment and they are booked until the end of July. My appt. is July 30th.

Does anyone know how long you have to wait in between the MMR shots? If my appointment is not until July 30 and I have to wait a month in between I wouldn't have the second one done before first day of class. I know it says the 1st hep has to be done before the 1st day of class but my paper doesn't say about the MMR I'm wondering if both MMR shots have to be completed before 1st day.

I'm going to see what my dr. charges. I have an HSA account that I can use. But my insurance I do not think will cover it.

Also, my HD only offers TB tests once a month for $4 which is a great deal but, I can't do it since it has to be a two step test. So I guess I will have to pay what the dr. charges for that too :( I just had a regular TB test like 4 months ago for work. dang it!

Oh well, I don't mind that much, afterall I'm thrilled to be going to nursing school:yeah:So, I guess I will figure out a way to pay for whatever needs to be done :)

I got my letter from Ivy Tech Bloomington Friday. I didn't get into either nursing program. I'm so bummed. I have decided to retake three of my pre-requisite classes that I ended up with B's in and reapply every semester til I get in. UGH! This stinks! Does anyone else feel my pain?:banghead:

I'm sorry you didn't get in. Is applying to Columbus also next time an option for you? I've heard they are easier to get into than Indy and Bloomington. Keep trying and you'll get there!!

I had contemplated applying to Columbus, but with gas prices the way they are, I was worried about driving all over the place for clinicals. PLUS, I'm still trying to decide what I'm going to do in the way of working while I'm in nursing school. I work for IU at the moment and even if I worked as a CNA, I'd take a $4/hr. pay cut at the least!

I know persistence pays, so I'm going to keep reapplying until they let me into the program! :D

I'm planning on retaking my Anatomy 1, Anatomy 2 and English Comp classes. This time I've decided to take them online, since I've heard that it's easier. I took English Comp online last summer and ended up with an 89.5%, but the instructor gave me a B so now I'm wondering if anyone has any insight as to which campuses have the best online courses for these classes. Any and all help would be very appreciated.
