I beefed up my summer course load and plan to take MAT 118, COM 102, and IVY 104, all online. Anyone else taking these?

Just got my acceptance letter from Fort Wayne campus for the LPN program! I'll be starting in Fall '08. It's good to see that 9 months of hard work are paying off. Hope I can make it through the program.

:yeah:congrats!!!!

I took it online. Both 1 and 2. I did not have to order a fetal pig. We had quizzes which were open book online. They were based on the material from the Pierson website and questions that were to be done in the study guide. Then we had to go to campus and take the tests. The labs were online, and some to be done in the home. Make sure to do them and take notes because there is a lab final at the end of the semester covering them all. It is kind of tough too. We had to go to campus for the lab with the fetal pig. It was about 4 hours long and covered several different things...not just the fetal lab disection. Maybe this semester it has changed, but ordering a fetal pig at home? That is strange. I took everything online (all prerequisites) except advanced physiology. That is not offered online.

That is really good information. I was wondering about the open book part. What were the online labs like? I think I will PM you because I want to know more! I am supposed to take it in the Fall through Columbus in a live class but it would be so much easier with my schedule to take it online.

How is everyone? Staying busy?

I got a letter Friday saying they rescheduled orientation for the 16th instead of the 21st. Only 8 days!!! I can't wait.

I got my second dose of Hep today. Things seem like they are moving so slowly.

Hope everyone is doing good!

Hello everyone. Anyone else going crazy? I found out today that they are sending out more letters for alternates. I hope and pray this means that I am finally in. Can't wait till Tuesday's oreintation. :D I am on pins and needles. Aparently there were 10 people that did not accept their position. So 10 of the 12 alternates are in. Everyone say a prayer that I get in please. I am so excited I could bust. :clown:

:ancong!: to all of the people that have received their letters in the last week. I so understand the long wait and anxiety.

I finally got my schedule up on blackboard (Lawrence) Anyone else on the tues-friday block?

Did you have to order your uniforms at your orientation or how does that work? I don't have a clue what size I would even need. We have orientation Friday for Richmond.

Good Luck Icaria!!!

Do you know what you're # is on the alternate list?

I was settling down on the crazy scale, but the closer orientation gets the more excited I am getting.

I'm interested in knowing about the scrubs too. I'm wondering, do we have to pay for them on the spot when we order, or can we pay when we pick them up?

Colt what are your hours like. I am assuming you have class everday Tue-Fri?

Thanks wishN. I don't have a clue what number I am. They won't tell us until Tuesday. But I figure that 10 to 12 odds are pretty good.

It states in my letter to come prepared to pay the $150 and money for any additional stuff like bp cuff, stethoscope, etc. I plan on buying the other stuff online.

Has anyone bought anything for school yet?

We have to order our scrubs from The Uniform House, green pants (with NO side pockets...I don't know how I'll survive!!) a white scrub shirt that has to be embroidered and a white lab coat (that I am pretty sure is made from a cardboard/sandpaper blend:p) We have to pay for them when we order them and it takes 10-14 days to get them. Shoes have to be ALL WHITE...no color at all! and don't forget, tennis shoes squeak on hospital floors!

As far as the schedule, T/0830-1550 ~ W/0800-1050 ~R/0830-1020 ~ F/0830-1420 ...that is until Sept 29, then the only thing that changes is we start a clinical on F/0645-1530

When you are buying a stethoscope make sure that it doesn't have "double tubing"...I don't know how else to say that, but I got one of those for CNA class and they are sooooo heavy after a couple hours...get the Littman Lightweight!!

I bought the littman lightweight and it was only 42.00. It seems like it will be good. I still have lots to do though. They say that my mmr is way too old so I need to go and get a booster, I also have to go and get the hep b. series. Uniforms, b/p cuff, penlight, and Im signed up to take the cpr course at our local fire dept. on july 30th. Its all alittle bit overwhelming. Ive had some bad stuff happen at home this past couple weeks:cry:, so Im having a hard time getting motivated. Im glad I have all of you to see what everyones doing to keep me going thanks all!!!!!!!:yeah:
