I know we still have some time but I imagine a majority of us are taking or have taken the TEAS and are getting ready to get ready for the Spring 2020 application period !! Just thought I could give us a spot to chat, I know I have used the older threads from other years to help me prepare as well!
I take my TEAS (first time) Monday! What is everyone else up to?!

I love how you are being so smart about this, I'm over here thinking now, WOW that's a good idea, I should have done that Haha!! I will have to look into when and where ours will be, sounds like a really good idea regardless!

Yeah, I just have a couple questions about my transfer credits and I feel like I need more information, so that is pretty much the only reason why I'm waiting until after the information session. I'm sure most will apply right away, except for the ones planning to take the TEAS test again or who haven't taken it yet. I don't want to wait until the last minute either, so I'm hoping I have all my ducks in a row after that session.

Especially seeing all the scores here sometimes lol I wish you the best of luck on your second try!! I will be retaking if I dont get in this round, but I have seen some get in with a lower score than me so I wanted to try first!!
Yes, these scores and the scores that are posted on the Facebook group are quite intimidating. I figure I might as well retake it so I know I have done everything I can do get into the Spring semester since Anderson doesn't have a fall application and that is my first choice.

Oh yeah! If my campus didnt have fall and spring I would retake now too!! I just didnt want to take my second try too soon and mess it up but again, if I get to that point I will bump up my overall score by retaking psych, because even if I had those 5 extra points now I think I would have a much better chance too

I will also be applying in a few weeks after I retake the TEAS. I kept checking every day to see if the orientation site had been updated to reserve a spot for the health science workshop that I was told I needed to attend and they never updated it, so I called Friday and found out they had upcoming workshops for today, next Tuesday and the Tuesday after that, so I am glad I called. I believe last I checked my advisor said that reading through the nursing session handbook counted as going to the session? I may have to double check with her and make sure that is still the case.

Right, I totally understand. I took Anatomy 101, Psych 101, ENGL 111, IVYT 112, COMM 102 and Math 123 all in the same semester which was way too much, so I only have one A and two B's to count towards my points which really brings your score down. If I don't get in during this semester I will probably retake the two classes I got B's in so I have a fighting chance lol

Oh my gosh!! I couldnt imagine all of those at once!! I took psych and anatomy together and ended up having to retake anatomy for a B. The first time I JUST missed it and got a C. But I am the same, an A in English and a B in the other two. So i cant re take anatomy but one more A would be good i think Haha

So my adviser said the same thing about the info session. That as long as I went through the powerpoint/slideshow that was in the handbook that it would count and had all the same information. So that is why I never scheduled one. I will be curious to see what you think. If you find it helpful I might try to go before submitting my application.

Oh, yeah I did the health science workshop earlier in May. At that time, it was the last one listed on the site and I had literally checked it the day before and signed up fast. I was confused about the nursing session though because I had one advisor mention it to me but never said I needed to go, but the last advisor I talked to stressed to me about needing to go to it. Just to make sure I'm not missing anything, I've decided to just go. I'm sure it will be them covering the handbook and answering questions. Maybe at the workshop you can ask Michelle Dickey. She is the Dean of Nursing and she was there to talk about the nursing information at the workshop. She seems very nice.

I spoke with my advisor at the workshop I attended today, and she said that is still accurate that I could just go through the powerpoint, but she recommends actually going to get your questions answered and also tour the facility so I will be going just to make sure I get all the information I need.

So I just got home from the workshop, and I spoke with my advisor (Mindy), and she suggested going through both the online slideshow and also attending in person so I can get any questions answered and also tour the facility. I plan on going to the session next Friday, so I guess I will see you there! I am excited to see the facility after looking at the pictures. I went to the 53rd street campus before they opened the one on 60th st, but I'm sure it looks completely different now. The ER simulation looks incredible!

That was a good idea! I wish I would have taken the Advanced Physiology before the TEAS test. I think that would have helped out a lot! I was going to ask how the class was too, but Kotylynne already asked that for us. ? Originally, I was not planning on taking that class at all, but now I'm thinking I might try to take it with nursing classes.
