I know we still have some time but I imagine a majority of us are taking or have taken the TEAS and are getting ready to get ready for the Spring 2020 application period !! Just thought I could give us a spot to chat, I know I have used the older threads from other years to help me prepare as well!
I take my TEAS (first time) Monday! What is everyone else up to?!
Thought I would give it a little bump. I did well on my TEAS but not 100% how my score will hold up but I am staying hopeful!!
Anyone else yet??

I am so glad I came across this thread! I will be applying for the ASN program in the Spring also. I took my TEAS test (for the first time) this past Tuesday and that's all I have been able to think about for the last few days! It is about to drive me crazy without knowing if it will be good enough to get me in. My total score was an 88% on the TEAS, so fingers crossed! Good luck to you!

Omg yay!! I'm so glad someone else found it lol I have been going crazy too!! I got a 74.7 on my TEAS, I'm not sure I'll have enough overall (119) but I am going to try at least!!! I have seen others with my score get in in the spring so I'm trying to stay hopeful but I have noooo clue how I'm going to make it until September lol

Yeah, I have read through other threads too. I think I read the Fall and Spring 2019 threads, along with a few older ones. I saw that too with some getting in with a total of 116 and maybe even lower. I'm hoping more people tend to apply in the fall instead of the spring at the locations that offer it. Where will you be applying at? I'm applying in Anderson. It's the closest location to where I live, and with kids and still needing to work while in school, I just can't travel too far.

As far as I can tell it really depends on the campus too. I believe a lot of the newer first time students apply for the fall, it's what I've heard anyway! I thought about trying for anderson as well but it would be like an hour and a half drive I think, so I'll stick with just Fort Wayne. There is a fb group online that is all ivy tech pre nursing stuff and application scores etc., I think it's called Indiana Community College Nursing Program. Sometimes it makes me feel better and sometimes it scares me Haha
Have you finished all of your pre reqs and co reqs as well? I have advanced phys left, which I will be taking this fall and i am SUPER nervous!!!

Oh, I didn't know about that fb group. I was actually trying to find one, but when I was searching, I was putting Ivy Tech in the search and nothing was really coming up.
I actually took a lot of the pre-reqs and co-reqs at Ball State several years ago. Most of them are supposed to transfer to Ivy Tech except the math class (math 123) and I've never taken the Ivy Tech class (ivyt 112). I'm currently waiting for all my transfer credits to show up on my Ivy Tech transcript with a letter grade. I'll be starting classes this fall at Ivy Tech for those two classes. They will be completed just in time to hopefully start right into the nursing classes in the spring (fingers crossed).
I don't think I ever took an advanced PSYC class. I wish you luck! I took a sociology class instead and I thought it was harder than physiology.

Try to find that group if you can ! I found it through another post on here, they cant put IVY Tech in the name for a few reasons I dont remember now lol
Math 123 was one of my favorite classes, I wasnt the greatest at math before it but I took it as a summer class online. If you get to pick i HIGHLY reccomend taking it with Becky Moening, she was the Bomb!!
I am sorry i meant advanced physiology! I love psychology though, I took 101 and then lifespan development, loved that class too!! I could never do sociology, I took that in high school and it was HARD. the IVY112 class is EASY PEASY. Also took that online in the summer !

I think I found the fb group. I had to answer a couple questions to join the group, so I'm just waiting for them to accept my request.
I'm happy to hear that you liked math 123. I'm currently signed up to take it and the ivyt112 class online, also. I was hoping it wouldn't be more difficult online, without being right there with the professor.
I'm sorry! I must have been confused on the class you said. So is that advanced physiology class the APHY201? Is it offered online? I think I may have lucked out on that class since I had microbiology and chemistry. I wonder if most students try to get their co-reqs finished before they start the nursing classes or if they take them together.

That sounds like the right one!!
I bet you'll be perfectly okay online with it! If I could do it in the summer, online (and finish with an A) I KNOW anyone can do it!!
Ugh yeah I tried to take micro last semester, but it wasnt offered online so I took aphy 102 and chem, and then ultimately decided on Advanced physiology because I have heard that i will need it for the BSN later, and i do plan to bridge so i plan to get it out of the way plus I figure it will help in the program too. Unfortunately I could not find it online and my advisor said it isn't online, so my last class (hopefully, if I dont end up re taking psych 101) will be my first time back on campus since 2011 ?
And I don't know how common it is for everyone to get the Co reqs done, but I know it's the last thing I want to be worried about in the program!! I could not imagine trying to take aphy 102 or chem while being worried about actual nursing classes ??

Oh I didn't realize it was need for the BSN later. That's a smart decision to go ahead and do it now! Let me know how it goes! ?I haven't completely decided if I'll continue on toward a BSN. If it would work out to where I can work full time and continue school, then I might. I've been stressed about how demanding the program is going to be. I won't be able to continue to work my full time job (12 hour shifts) and go to nursing school, so I'm going to have to find something part time for those 18 months of nursing classes and clinicals. I'm not sure how everyone does it with work, school, and kids, but hopefully I will figure it out too. Lol

I'm really hoping I can find somewhere that will do like tuition reimbursement or something while I work there, but either way I hope I will have some time to just work with the associates before I have to worry about a bachelors, because I am sure by then I will be ready to be working and not in school!!
Oh my gosh I can't even imagine!! Although I hate it I am really lucky that I do not have to work right now, and I am worried enough about how to make it work with just kids and a busy husband in the mix. We are not close enough to any family for them to be able to help. So, we will see how this goes but like you said, other people can figure it out so I am sure we will too!!
