Ivy Tech Spring 2020 Hopefuls

I know we still have some time but I imagine a majority of us are taking or have taken the TEAS and are getting ready to get ready for the Spring 2020 application period !! Just thought I could give us a spot to chat, I know I have used the older threads from other years to help me prepare as well!

I take my TEAS (first time) Monday! What is everyone else up to?!

I took aphy 101, psych 101, math 123, eng 111, and the student success in healthcare last semester. All at the same time. It was brutal! Looking back I have no idea how I was able to get A's in everything. It was non stop studying! Hopefully everything goes well and all 3 of us will be starting in January!

And yeah, the hurry up and wait thing. I'm the same way. I can't wait until I can put my application in. When I realized how far out the deadline was i couldn't believe it! I think its September 1'st. 2 months of stressing! lol

Omg you are amazing lol!! I did English and math by themselves, although math I took for the summer. But i did everything online too, I definitely think if I had done them not online I would have had all As as well. It makes me wish math would help too though because I got an A in that and English and Bs in the other two.

At least we have eachother to talk to the entire painstaking time ? I cant wait to apply either and then I need to get my dang immunization records.

You will get in for sure once they add that grade!!! That is an amazing score!!

LoL thanks! Im glad I did my classes online! I think they were a little easier online to be honest. For some reason I was thinking math was counted to. So I was really happy when I did so well in that class. Then I realized it wasn't and was a little bummed ? But oh well!

Yeah I need to work on getting my Highschool Transcripts! Hopefully that is not a problem!

Yeah we will have to keep each other updated on whats going on!
Oh, btw! what did you use to study for the Teas? I thought i saw in another post you mentioned TEAS Mastery app? was that you? and if so did it help??

Thanks! I hope so! I was debating on taking the TEAS again, to see if I can get higher, just for peace of mind, but then again, I really need to save money. I wish this was all over already!

I have not had one single person tell me or recommend that I should retake my Teas and my score is 137.3 total. Everybody says that 140 or above is a guarantee of getting in! So I really think you are good! If I retake it then I will only be looking to improve my score by 2.7 points lol. Thats why im debating it so much as well. Its like, should i study my butt off and pay 70$ for just a few more points? (I didnt really study before i took the teas the first time)

But you should be good!! ?

Possibly it was me!! I found a FB group actually to help me prepare and I'm really glad I did. They dont give out answers or anything there are ATI people in the group from what I understood but the resources were so abundant!! So I used at least 3 files from that group which were study guides people made, the TEAS mastery app, the Mometrix secrets book, Brandon craft on YouTube for math although I wish I had spent more time going over some of that. But I really liked the App, it has tests available for practice and tons of resources within it too. Worth the $10

I enjoyed taking them online but I guess my biggest problem is that usually while trying to do school and quizzes and tests I have children to deal with as well. Oh well lol such is life ??‍♀️

I think you are definitely going to have a perfect score I know it's hard but try not to worry and if you still feel worried then maybe try to do it again but I am with you on trying to save money and being way too scared of not doing any better and then having to wait even longer to re take it!! Some people in the TEAS group I'm in can take it like an infinite amount of times and it makes me jealous lol

And trust me guys, the only one who has a score to actually worry about is me. If you guys dont get in I will be shocked!

I have heard that too by a couple people, but I'm still worried. The problem with me is that I'll be worried until I get a letter (good or bad). I did study on and off for about 2 or 3 weeks, but that was mainly to get refreshed a bit. I took my pre-reqs over 10 years ago, so I was too afraid to totally wing it!

Thanks girls! What? How do they get to do that? Does it cost $70 each time they take it?

I dont even know!! I know it varies by state and school but yeah I havent seen anyone say it costs less than $60 for them, but in that TEAS group I'm in some people are on their like 5th try. Which not bashing them for that but if I was on my 5th try it would be like 4 years from now lol

Also for anyone who has been here forever(in IN) I found out on here like a long time ago (although I JUST finally sent them the info yesterday) you can go to MyvaxIndiana and find an email on there (I believe it is in relation to CHIRP) and they will send you a form to fill out and then they will send you your immunization records if they have them. It isnt a guarantee per the initial email they send but it would be better than having to pay to check and see which ones you have! Or if you have been all over the place like me and dont live where you got your childhood immunizations! Just thought I would throw it out there
