Ivy Tech Spring 2020 Hopefuls

Published

I know we still have some time but I imagine a majority of us are taking or have taken the TEAS and are getting ready to get ready for the Spring 2020 application period !! Just thought I could give us a spot to chat, I know I have used the older threads from other years to help me prepare as well!

I take my TEAS (first time) Monday! What is everyone else up to?!

The final count down is getting so close!! 2 weeks til the deadline date tomorrow, and 3 until acceptance letters start heading out!!

We're almost there guys!!

Hey all! I got accepted into the Bloomington Fall 2019 ASN program (start MONDAY... Nervous!!). Anyways, I know how stressful this waiting period for the acceptance letters is. I just wanted to give you all some encouragement! I know that minimum teas scores and total program points for acceptance are the big question... well obviously, this differs by campus and how strong the applicant pool also plays a role. I personally got a 78 on my teas and 55 total points, giving me a total of 133 and I got in 1st round. I also know someone who got a total of 127 and got in ASN 1st round. I think the highest I heard for Bloomington was 148 (yikes!)

Anyways just take a deep breath, you got this!

If u haven't taken the TEAs yet, reading, math and English were pretty simple, but science was tough! It covered a lot of endocrine system questions, so make sure to study up on science! I personally bought the ATI mometrix (sp?) Study guide, made copies of the answer sheets and quized myself that way. However, as mentioned previously, science is a killer. The momentrix book will over prepare you for English, reading and math (I got a 98 on the English part!!) But not enough on science, so find another source to study for science.

Anyways, you guys got this! Just take it one step at a time! And trust me, when you get that acceptance email you will be soooooo relieved! But... also remember, that's just the 1st step to this journey, don't lose focus on the big picture!

Good luck guys!

Btw, anyone applying for Bloomington?

Hey! Congrats on getting accepted! It’s been a long wait/process! I applied to the Bloomington campus for spring 2020 as my 2nd choice. My application score wasn’t the highest,121.19.

Good luck on your first semester of nursing school! ??

TWO WEEELS YOU GUYS!!

14 DAYS

hows everyone holding up??? I've been trying to keep busy so the time will pass.

I do have a question though, this is my first class on campus. School starts monday but I dont need to be on campus until tuesday so what do I do on Monday?? Is there stuff that gets uploaded onto IvyLearn like with online only classes or how does it usually work??

I'm taking a mix of online and on campus classes this semester. Usually I can access my online classes on the Monday the semester starts, but this year I was surprised to find I already have access to my online Chem 101 class! Check it out, yours my already be available... if not I think they will be Monday for sure.

Good luck with the new school year!

Yes, my online stuff is ALWAYS available right away, I just wasnt sure if on CAMPUS stuff would be the same!! I'll keep checking, I'm just terrified of going to class tuesday and the teacher being like "you should have already done xyz"

I don't think that will happen! What classes are you taking?

I'm doing public speaking Monday and Wednesday at 6 PM the first 8 weeks, A&P II Tuesday and Thursday the second 8 weeks.

I'm taking micro! But it was there today!! Yay lol are those your last two before the program??

I have a couple more to take... another psych class, advanced A&P and microbiology. My plan is to focus on nursing classes for the most part, and take the rest of my "extra" classes during the summer. It's hard to imagine taking the regular classes and nursing classes at the same time! (Though I'm sure people do it all the time.)

This gives me a little bit of hope! LOL! I have 127.26 points total. I got 82.26 on my TEAS and I am SERIOUSLY stressing myself out worrying that I am not going to get in anywhere. I applied to 5 campuses, Bloomington being my first choice because I live here but I'm willing to drive just to make sure I get this knocked out quickly! If I had a 130, I wouldn't worry at all but for some reason I'm just so scared!

Good luck to you as you try to finish everything else!!! I took developmental psych and loved it, it was pretty easy and went off of a lot of the concepts that psych 101 did!

I couldnt imagine it with nursing classes either, micro is my last thankfully. So if I dont make it, even though I will re take psych Im not going to know what to do with myself lol

@Kotylynne Sorry for missing your message! I was travelling to see family for the past week or so. They mentioned white shoes but said to get in touch with the program about specifics as they didn't sell any.

Finally got some pics of the scrubs for everyone!
