I know we still have some time but I imagine a majority of us are taking or have taken the TEAS and are getting ready to get ready for the Spring 2020 application period !! Just thought I could give us a spot to chat, I know I have used the older threads from other years to help me prepare as well!
I take my TEAS (first time) Monday! What is everyone else up to?!
Hey guys!!! Just found this and I think it's super cool. I am applying for spring and taking my TEAS this week! Any tips you all have for taking the TEAS?
I have an A in APHY 101 and B's in English and Psych. I feel discouraged over the 10 points I lost due to the B's but I am hoping to make up for with my TEAS score so any advice is helpful!

Hey! I also have one A and 2 Bs so not the greatest but I'm still going to try!!
There is a group on facebook that helped me get organized and figure out where to begin for the TEAS.
The things I studied for the most were science and English since those have a heavier weight than the others. I still probably could have given myself more time for the other stuff, but I came out with a 72.7% so not AWFUL but definitely not as high as I would have liked.
I am close enough in my score at my campus that I MIGHT get in so I'm going to try and if it doesnt happen I will re take psych for an A and then re take my TEAS, since we can only take it twice in 2 years it makes me way too nervous to try again.
The best advice I have is give yourself at least half a day off beforehand, and take the break they give you. I went to the bathroom and moved around and got my blood pumping (nobody was in there haha) also I ate a granola bar and drank some Coke beforehand. I never eat breakfast lol also when you leave check you have your wallet!! I NEVER do that either and I had left my wallet on the table for whatever reason!

Hey! That's exciting! What location(s) are you applying to? I applied to Anderson only for the ASN program.
With the TEAS, have you taken any of the ATI practice tests? I know they cost, but they gave me an idea of how well I had studied each of the 4 sections. I was then able to review sections that I didn't do as well in. Also, the ATI practice tests are set up just like the actual test, including the on screen calculator.

I am hoping to score at least an 80 and I'm so nervous!
Oh okay, those should be fine to use for practice! I got an 88, but with how Ivy Tech calculates it, it was an 87.12 (I think) that was recorded on my application. I understand with being nervous! I was too but once I got in there and sat down, I took a few seconds to just breathe, and I was fine after that.
Agh! Okay so today after a million phone calls, I ended up having to drop advanced phys and switch to Micro. I did not realize that advanced phys was 4 credit hours so it cost more and then my aid didnt cover the book (which was like $300!!)
So anyway, is anyone else having issues purchasing the Microbiology book now?? It says "price not available " in the online bookstore, and when I used the ISBN # it doesnt pull up what I need elsewhere not to mention, I switched classes so I DIDN'T have to drop a bunch of money on books and now here we are again. I've tried calling the bookstore back like alllll day but they arent answering ??♀️ guess I'll try again tomorrow but wondering if anyone else had that issue / figured it out??

@Kotylynne Have you tried Thriftbooks or Amazon? I got my BIOL 211 book from Thriftbooks for about $50. Also found out today that the scrubs have to be from Landau (contrary to the first time I asked them when the person said any brand). Still waiting for them to be in stock on campus so I can send out a pic to everyone.

I'll check out thrift books, I need to try to figure out the last place I rented books from too though because they were super cheap but that was like back when I started... amazon the one I found was like 180 ?
Do you know if Landau and urbane are the same? The website has both but I actually saw some Landau ones I really loved though lol so far i think they have been the only steel grey ones i could find anyway!

Anyone doing the LPN to RN transition? I am applying to Greencastle, Terra Haute, Anderson in that order. Just really worried about my score not being enough.
Are you in the Facebook group? That might help ease your mind, I cant say I've seen a bunch specifically for the transition program yet but I do know that even lower overall scores seem to do just fine transitioning. I know my friend had a 113 or a 112 and she was fine!!
