I know we still have some time but I imagine a majority of us are taking or have taken the TEAS and are getting ready to get ready for the Spring 2020 application period !! Just thought I could give us a spot to chat, I know I have used the older threads from other years to help me prepare as well!
I take my TEAS (first time) Monday! What is everyone else up to?!

Aw, I'm up at FW, but I have heard Lawrence can be a bit challenging but I think that makes you better anyway!! I wish you the best of luck with that, I think if you enjoy and are strong in sciences you will be just fine!!
So I like to be super prepared and I've been SO IRKED I havent been able to purchase my books still (I was able to put my order in on the 29th, but my aid STILL wasnt showing as available for bookstore)
So I messaged them and they said there is indeed a delay on getting aid to the bookstore right now, in case anyone else was wondering, but they are working on it.
Hopefully I don't die of anxiety, because I do NOT want to go to class without my books lol

I'm not sure, they didn't have any stock but it would be nice to know! They said you didn't have to buy them through the bookstore, so from that I would guess that any would be fine as long as they aren't too crazy! Once they get them in stock I'll send a pic of them for everyone interested.

Thank you! That would be awesome! I'm just so excited it isnt white, white would be SO hard to keep clean!

Good to know! I wasn't sure how all this worked with financial aid. I feel like I'm in the dark trying to figure it out. It's like I'm learning little bits of the puzzle at a time and I'm trying to make sense of it. Unfortunately, I can only take out loans for financial aid and I've never done that before. Plus, I'm only taking online classes for this first semester, so I'm confused on if we will need a physical book or if it's an online book. I don't even know where to look to see what books are needed. I probably need to speak with an advisor. Lol ??♀️

If you go to your myivy, login, along the side hit student dashboard, then course info, then select the year, then scroll down a little you should see a thing that says "purchase textbooks" then click that, then that link should automatically take you to the bookstore and there will be a list of books you need for each course. However if you're not sure if you need them or not try to email your professors. I did NOT need a $300 chem book last semester thankfully !! And some of them DO have all the things you need within the modules.
I have no experience with loans yet, just the Grant's but I imagine sometime in the program I will be needing loans lol
Hi everyone!
I just found this thread and I am so glad for it! ? I have been working hard this summer to get my TEAS finished and taking Psych 101 so that I can apply for the Spring 2020 term.
I completed my application this morning! 139.03 points. I applied to just the Fort Wayne campus because all the other locations are at least an hour and a half away from me. This fall I am finishing up my prereqs and am taking Advanced Human Physiology, Microbiology, Sociology, and Interpersonal Communication. I have an associate's degree in medical transcription from Purdue Global, so a bunch of my classes transferred over for credit; these 4 classes plus the psych class were the only ones I needed to complete for the nursing degree.
Anyway, I just wanted to say hi and GOOD LUCK to everyone!

Hi Courtney! Good luck to you too! The countdown is now on! I understand with having campuses so far away. Anderson is the closest to me that offers the program starting in the spring. Everywhere else is at least an hour away.
Wow! Looks like to have a busy fall schedule! At least you won't have to worry about all those classes while being in nursing school!
Good luck again!
