Ivy Tech Spring 2020 Hopefuls

I know we still have some time but I imagine a majority of us are taking or have taken the TEAS and are getting ready to get ready for the Spring 2020 application period !! Just thought I could give us a spot to chat, I know I have used the older threads from other years to help me prepare as well!

I take my TEAS (first time) Monday! What is everyone else up to?!

I wonder what kind of shoes students usually wear, I feel like most nurses wear those clog like shoes and I wonder if they are better than sneakers..

Most of the gals I work with say those clogs are expensive and not much more comfortable than sneakers. For me, since im a guy, i will be wearing sneakers ? The clogs just dont look right on me lol.

I dont know if I could do clogs either. I am VERY picky about my shoes as it is, although you probably wouldn't guess that as I typically am found in a pair of Van's tennis shoes but I AM !!

Hey! I'm not sure if all locations are doing it, but I just got an invite to "welcome week" at the Anderson campus. I signed up for the event on August 28th. I hope too see some of you there!

Awwww shucks! I havent gotten anything yet! Although they probably are all different! Did it say what it's for? Like to look around campus and stuff?

I got the invite to. I dont think i will be able to go though. Work. Sounds fun though! hope you have a good time!

Every day I have to refrain from seeing how many more days because I just looked. And it's like 35 ??‍♀️? I'm hoping once fall semester starts the last couple weeks will fly by! Just trying to keep busy til then! Are you guys doing fall classes ?? I havent gotten an email yet that my aid is available in the bookstore and I thought we usually did by now but wondered if it was because they switched to barnes and noble??

Yeah, I figured each campus would do their own thing. All my email really said was that I was invited to Welcome Week and there will be food and games. (It's the food that I get excited about!) ? The email really didn't have much information, so I'm not even sure what Welcome Week is all about. Have you ever went to "IvyLife" under the "MyIvy" site? There might be some activities/events posted under your location.

Oh good idea! I'll go check it out. It would be awesome if they had something the day before that, since I'll be at campus already lol

I completely understand. I picked the 28th because I'm off work that day. And yes, the countdown is on! I've never hoped for summer to fly by, but I'm ready to get this started!

For sure! And yeah, hopefully when fall classes start it will help the time fly by. I am taking A&P 102 and Chem 101 online this fall. I'm sure that will keep me busy enough! How about everybody else? what classes are you taking this fall??

Yes sir, you're going to be VERY busy. I did both of those last semester together! It's not the worst, I enjoyed anatomy a LOT because it was like a break from all the chem. It also wasnt super hard either but a lot to keep up with, for me anyway!

I just have advanced physiology this fall so although I'm expecting it to take some work, I dont think it will be that bad either.

I'm taking Math 123 and POLS 101 (political science) this fall. I needed another 3 credit hour class to go with Math to be able to get financial aid and a technical certificate before next semester. I had too many credits transfer from Ball State and had an issue with maximum time frame.
