This is the "Not In" thread, or for anyone that's planning on applying for Spring Semester by the Sept 1st deadline.
We need love too! :loveya:
My Boring Stats:
A's in prereq's except ANP 2...taking that class now.
Horribly embarrassing TEAS at 76, still have two more tries. (Which is why I'm taking math and phys sci this summer. lol)
Hope to get into the Bloomington or Terre Haute programs. (Yay! Greene county gets region pts at both. lol)
Currently frazzling myself out with 5 online classes
It's nice to meet you....whoever you are....
Thanks Kara! Just think, you'll be doing this in August!
Okay for those of you who had Fundamentals class today, did they say anything about why the folder is empty for Class Session 1? I did see in the syllabus that was emailed that there are 7 full chapters and 2 partial chapters to read this week! Yikes but I guess we better get used to that.
Oh my GOSH there is a lot of reading to do! I am trying to be organized and write out my reading assignments for the week in my planner, and I didn't realize how much it was until I wrote it all down! Guess I know where I'll be for the next 5 days :) Do you think the reading assignments listed for the various weeks are for the weeks listed, or for the following week? For example, the reading assignments for week 2: Should those be completed PRIOR to week 2, or during week 2? I just don't want to be responsible for material on a pop quiz or something if I have't read it yet. I can't believe we already have a test next Tuesday in Fundamental Lecture (or whatever your first day of lecture is)! It seems so soon.....only 2 class sessions and then a test?! I guess that's how you have to do it when you cram a course into only 5 weeks!
Luckily I've gone through a couple of chapters in Dosage Calc so far and have "tested out" of them with the pre-chapter tests. Anything that can save me reading time is LOVELY!
Does anyone know about the drug handbook? The original blue paper said it was a Nursing 2008 Drug Handbook (which, now there is the 2010 edition out). But the syllabus for Pharm says we should have a "Student Drug Handbook" which is not the same thing. What was in the bundle?
I have the Nursing 2010 Drug Handbook which I believe came in the bundle. It is the only drug handbook I received. The instructor mentioned this particular book today as the one we would use.
I believe there is a 2010 Handbook in the bundle (or there should be.) I'm not at home at the moment, so I'll check that when I am. It seems as though some of us got different bundles than others.
As far as the labs this week go, do we need to wear uniforms for the second lab of the week, or are we excused from uniforms for the entire week? (To clarify, my section did not wear uniforms on Tuesday, but are meeting again tomorrow and some of us are not clear on what dress is required.)
I hope this week is going well for everyone!

Yep full uniform tomorrow. Which, I do have to pull my hair back on the sides. I played around with various hair paraphernelia tonight and have come to the conclusion that I will look stupid no matter what I do so I might as well do what is simplest. My hair is so dang fine and wispy and is not quite long enough to all pull back into a ponytail or claw thingy, so I would have to use clips as well or a headband (which I might try a headband, didn't buy one of those yet). Oh well. At least my shoes are fine! (showed them to the lab instructor yesterday).
I haven't used the videos yet, but I'm a little nervous...I heard people talking about them today and saying that the videos had a lot of useless "fluff"...personally I'd rather spend my time studying the books and powerpoints...
Has anyone started the dosage calc stuff yet? We're not supposed to use a calculator (according to the book) for practice questions...but will we be allowed to use calculators on the test????
