Ivy Tech 'Fall 2010' Applicants

U.S.A. Indiana

Published

Hi everyone! I wanted to start a thread for those of us planning on applying by April 1st....

Has anyone taken the TEAS yet? Where are you with your pre-reqs? What campus are you applying to?

I am planning on taking the TEAS in December, so I have enough time to retake it :) and this is my first semester at Ivy Tech. I'm taking APHY 101, ENGL 111, and PSYC 101 all this semester and I will complete APHY 102 next semester. I am planning on applying to Indy.

And good luck to all the Spring 2010 applicants! :yeah:Hope everyone gets in!!!

Received my call from Richmond today. I'm in the RN program!!!!

Yeaaaa and Congrats~

Does anyone know how to find out exactly which books (editions and ISBNs) are being used at the Lawrence campus for ASN students this fall?

I am trying to purchase some privately, but need to know exactly which books to buy. The online bookstore at IvyTech doesn't have the book information yet (at least, I can't find it!).

Thanks!

Normally they wonk have the books online until summer session is over in 2 weeks. Bummer:(

Do a search for the courses. The books are now required by law to be listed. And all the ISBN's for fall are there. I will warn you though, most of the fundamentals books are packaged together in a bundle.

I signed up for my CPR class today! It was $55, but I'm glad I can cross something else off my list. It's only one evening, four hours long.

I still haven't gotten my health insurance stuff worked out. I called my high school and they have my immunization records so I'm hoping I won't have to get titers. I called our local community health clinic and they said they didn't do physicals and referred me to the walk-in clinic at CVS (Minute Clinic). Their website says they do sports/school physicals so I'm hoping it'll be good enough! It's a nurse practitioner or a physician's assistant who does them though, which I think is okay. I'll double-check. It's pretty affordable, so that's a plus. If that doesn't work I'm sure my parents will help me pay for a physical, but I don't really want to have to do that.

All my financial aid came through, which is a HUGE load off my back. I got a Pell Grant and an O'Bannon Grant for the Fall so I'm going on Monday to buy my books, scrubs, supplies, etc. I'm so excited! :D

Really random question, what sleeve does the patch go on our scrubs? I bought my scrubs and a patch for each top, but the chick in the bookstore wasn't sure and I don't want to wait until the second orientation date to find out. I want to have EVERYTHING ready by the time that day rolls around. :)

at ivy tech in valpo, they want it on the left sleeve : )

orientation for anderson is tomorrow! i'm not sure which of you will be there but it'll be great to meet all of my classmates. super excited! i know, i haven't been on here in forever, but i've been attempting to pack as much fun stuff into my summer as possible. we've been down to the camper and boat about a dozen times this summer. my daughter is starting to learn how to swim! she's brave enough to jump off of the back of the boat all by herself (with a life vest, of course)!

goodnight all...

I have officially withdrawn from Lafayette IT PN program, because I accepted the PN spot in Valpo.....I hope that the person who gets the call that they are in, is as excited as I was when I got the call. Good Luck!!

enjoy it while you can. if you end up having to do the summer classes you will not have time for any of that. this program is very very difficult. i am half way through and am sad to see some of my classmates, all of whom are very smart, failing classes and being forced to retake. prepare yourself for the challenge that is ahead of you.

Congrats to all of those who have recently gotten into the program! Things have been crazy here with 4 classes and 4 kids! I've got all of my stuff done and I'm waiting on a couple books that are backordered and my uniform that will be ready sometime in august.

How's everyone else?

Your uniform won't be ready until "sometime in August"?? Wow, that would make me insane waiting for it. I guess I better get in there and get mine ordered. I was holding back waiting for funds after the huge book purchase but I don't want to be without.

Is everyone else as nervous as I am? I was ok until I saw the books! I peek inside and start to feel a little sick.
