Ivy Tech 'Fall 2010' Applicants
Question for any RN students starting this fall at Lawrence: We have an all day orientation coming up on Thursday, August 19. Does anyone know what we are supposed to bring and if we are supposed to wear our uniform? Just wondering if anyone knows before I try to get in touch with someone at the nursing dept. I've been "bothering" them a bit, lately! Thanks!

Does anyone know how to find out exactly which books (editions and ISBNs) are being used at the Lawrence campus for ASN students this fall? I am trying to purchase some privately, but need to know exactly which books to buy. The online bookstore at IvyTech doesn't have the book information yet (at least, I can't find it!). Thanks!

Anyone else out there in the RN program at Lawrence this fall? I was just reviewing my schedule and noticed that my pharmacology (NRSG 106) class is NOT on there! I'm going to call on Monday, but wondering if that happened to anyone else? I can't believe I didn't notice it! It makes a big difference in my schedule and I already had things worked out with my babysitter! Thanks!

Sorry, Laura, but I did not apply to Lafayette. I kind of wish I did, though. I didn't know about the Lafayette campus until recently, and I think I would like driving there better than driving to Lawrence. Crossing my fingers for you...

I think I was so excited when I got my letter, that I looked at the wrong date...the orientation IS on June 23...the deadline to confirm acceptance is June 18! Sorry!

It was either 215 or 216 depending on whether or not they round the TEAS.

"I'm also currently taking a CNA class so that I can go ahead and hopefully start working as a CNA before the nursing program starts - if I get in the nursing program that is." Could you tell me how the CNA program works? Is it through ivy tech? I would like to do this too, but I haven't had time to research it yet. If there is a program I could do this summer, that would be great!

If I get in, I will be driving from Danville to the the Lawrence campus, which is 50 minutes on a good day. I'm not too happy about that, but, at the last minute, the Greencastle location (only 25 minutes from my house) cancelled the RN program for the upcoming year. I didn't know about the Lafayette branch, or else I would have applied there, too. The funny thing, is that I get regional points for applying to Lawrence (50 min) and none for Greencastle (20 min). I am anxious about knowing whether or not I was accepted, but I am mostly worried about what to do with my three little ones if I do get in! They have never been to a babysitter before, and my husband and I don't have any family in Indiana. That is actually stressing me out more than whether or not I get accepted!

Ivy Tech 'Fall 2010' Applicants
Hi! This is my first time posting. I have applied to the Lawrence campus for Fall 2010! I just read on this thread that there may have been 500 applicants! Is this normal? Wow! I just finished my four prerequisites and got my A's. What a relief! I only applied to the Lawrence campus; it is a 50 minute drive from my house. I was planning on applying at the Greencastle branch, which is much closer, but they dropped their RN program at the last minute. I was really bummed. Anyhow, I just realized that there is a Lafayette campus which would also be about 50 minutes from my house. I am not crazy about driving to Lawrence because I am coming from Danville which is west of Indy and I hate the traffic, but I was wondering if anyone know anything about the Lawrence program? I didn't apply there, so I would have to wait and apply in Fall, and I am just wondering if anyone thinks it would be worth the wait? Is the campus nice? Faculty, etc? I might not get into the Indy program, anyway, and I wish I had applied to Lafayette, too. Also, does anyone know where I can sell my Ivy Tech books for my online classes? I have the lab kit, too. When I called the online bookstore, they told me that they weren't buying back ANY of them! I think I spent about $600 and I think they are still using the same edition for the summer, so I don't understand why they won't buy them back!
