Ivy Tech 'Fall 2010' Applicants

Published

Hi everyone! I wanted to start a thread for those of us planning on applying by April 1st....

Has anyone taken the TEAS yet? Where are you with your pre-reqs? What campus are you applying to?

I am planning on taking the TEAS in December, so I have enough time to retake it :) and this is my first semester at Ivy Tech. I'm taking APHY 101, ENGL 111, and PSYC 101 all this semester and I will complete APHY 102 next semester. I am planning on applying to Indy.

And good luck to all the Spring 2010 applicants! :yeah:Hope everyone gets in!!!

"I'm also currently taking a CNA class so that I can go ahead and hopefully start working as a CNA before the nursing program starts - if I get in the nursing program that is."

Could you tell me how the CNA program works? Is it through ivy tech? I would like to do this too, but I haven't had time to research it yet. If there is a program I could do this summer, that would be great!

I just recently took the CNA program through the Columbus campus. Although it was an absolute JOKE, I'm confident not all campuses are this way. Most of them are set up for 8 hour days for a couple of weeks straight. You have to have so many classroom hours and then you move onto so many clinical hours...It was a decent experience for me. I haven't worked in a health care field before, so I learned ALOT! I really feel like I've got my foot in the door with the whole nursing thing. Good luck to you!

I recieved my acceptance letter for the LPN program for Lafayette today and am an alternate for the RN program! My score was 206 for your information so you can judge where you are. I am holding off accepting because I applied to Lawrence with 209 and am hoping for the RN program. Hope everyone who is waiting on Lafayette gets their letter today!

I just read on the Ivy Tech discussion board that there were 190 applicants at the Lafayette campus and the RN ranges were from 216 to 207. So you are so close!!! Hopefully a few people will drop and you will be sure to get in from the wait list! Congratulations for your acceptance!

I just got my acceptance letter for RN at the Lafayette campus!:D So much for letters being sent out next week!

Wow!!! I am so excited you guys are recieving letters already!!! Congrats!!!! That cutoff kind of scares me!!! Seems very high!

Congrats! Wow those are some high cutoffs! Now I am really freaking out about getting in at Kokomo! What did the letters look like? Were the acceptance letters thick? I have a feeling I'll probably be able to tell before I even open it depending on how thick the envelope is. *Still crossing my fingers*

I have heard that the acceptance and rejection letters come in the same white Ivy Tech envelope, nothing fancy, one is not thicker than the other.

The cutoff for the LPN program at Lafayette is 198. I also verified that the cutoff for the RN was 207. Congratulations to everyone who made it into either program!

So the RN and LPN letters came out at the same time?

Yes, they both came today.

They are in the same kind of envelope. The only difference is there is only one piece of paper in the rejection envelope and two pieces plus a return envelope in the acceptance so it is a little bit thicker. I was shocked the cutoff was so high for Lafayette! I even called to make sure they had my score correct because I was very surprised I didn't get into the RN program. I really hope that it isn't that way across the state! Good luck everyone!

Congrats Erin and Laura! I'm so excited and happy for you!!

Erin - what did the acceptance letter say? Did it have the orientation date? Anything else? I'm curious as to what immunizations, etc we will need. I know that we will need 2 tb tests and I'm sure I'll have to get a tetorifice booster (IF I get in of course), but I'm not sure what else.
