Hi everyone! I wanted to start a thread for those of us planning on applying by April 1st....
Has anyone taken the TEAS yet? Where are you with your pre-reqs? What campus are you applying to?
I am planning on taking the TEAS in December, so I have enough time to retake it :) and this is my first semester at Ivy Tech. I'm taking APHY 101, ENGL 111, and PSYC 101 all this semester and I will complete APHY 102 next semester. I am planning on applying to Indy.
And good luck to all the Spring 2010 applicants! :yeah:Hope everyone gets in!!!
sorry to hear you are feeling so stressed!! i hope things get better :)
I asked a girl in the ASN program i know from ivy tech indy whether the TEAS test was the same questions the second time around and she said it was the exact same questions. so that's good if it is still the same.
A couple of weeks ago my aphy 102 instructor informed us that she was pregnant and that she was leaving the class. At first I was a little upset because I really like the way she lectures and tests. But, the new instructor has set the class up so there is more points possible and is now giving us more extra credit. She also took away the comprehensive final and just made it a regular exam...so no final!!! I figured it up and I only have to get around a C on each exam from now on...which will be very doable!! So at least something good out of a not-so-good situation happened!
bizandgray,
I am in ANP 102 and my teacher had to drop the class due to pregnancy also. I wonder if we are in the same class?? Lafayette on Fridays?? I haven't taken my teas yet and am only going to be able to take it once...yikes!! I am kind of freaking out about that! I have worked so hard to get "A's" in all my classes, but now only giving myself just one shot at the teas, kinda feels like I just shot myself in the foot on this one! Any suggestions???
I was told by some nursing friends to study earth science, so I will brush up on that, but wondering was kind of ANP stuff should I study, if any??
ok guys i have a question for you.
if you took pre-reqs at another college but decided to retake them at Ivy Tech, do you have to submit official transcripts from the previous college? (like you don't want any pre-req grades to count from the other college)
I would be afraid that they would accidentally count the grades from the other college instead of the retake grades or something.
He is ok, but quiet, and like the rest of us, kinda got thrown into this and doesn't really know what is expected of us. I am unsure how the testing is going to go. There are 500 pts allotted for exams but only 4 tests left...which exams are worth what?? Also, for extra credit, will she take the coloring book for 35pts and the presentation for 15 pts, PLUS each worksheet up to 25pts...what about the chapter assessments as well? The last lab people are wanting some clarity on how many total points she is giving to us for extra credit and what is the total number of points in the class??
I think we feel so confused because we don't have her in lab to clarify her expectations.
wishing i was in a diff. lab! oh well, I heard that the tests are basically over the notes and if we study the notes we will do just fine! Which-that certainly sounds easier than our last teacher's tests! :)
ok she cleared it up in lab the other day.
she said she wants to keep the points we have already earned for the exams (250) and then add on the next 3 exams for a total of 550. So the next 3 exams are worth 100 each.
then the other points are the instructor points, the chapter assessments, and the lab points.
she said that she is capping the extra credit at 40. you can split the extra credit up however you like between the: coloring book, the worksheets, or the presentation. but, you can also do the previous chapter assessments for "bonus points" (there was 3...for a total of 15). so the extra credit total equals 55.
so i'm thinking the total points we can earn in the class is 890.
Anyone know if Madison and Lawrenceburg are two seperate programs?? I know they have 2 seperate schools, but I wasn't sure if I just have to attend one information session to apply to both? If they are seperate programs, does one school take more students than the other?? I've tried to call each campus multiple times and I always get forwarded to someones voicemail and NO ONE ever calls me back. It's sooo frustrating!

I know! And I'm stressed to the max! I have my aphy101 midterm on friday, (which I'm studying frantically for....ive never studied like this in my life, I was up til almost 3am) and my 2nd lecture exam in 102 on saturday, (im lucky my prof is amazing...i had a whole convo with the hubby about the lymphatic system after one 1.5 hr lecture...it was awesome) AND I have to find some time to study for the teas again. Ugh....
It's my hubby's off week, which is good because he really enjoys helping out with the baby, etc, but it's bad because I feel terrible for not giving him the attention that he deserves. You know, we all have pretty special families if they put up with us through this (of course, that's assuming that you're slightly neurotic at this moment in time like me).
