Hi everyone! I wanted to start a thread for those of us planning on applying by April 1st....
Has anyone taken the TEAS yet? Where are you with your pre-reqs? What campus are you applying to?
I am planning on taking the TEAS in December, so I have enough time to retake it :) and this is my first semester at Ivy Tech. I'm taking APHY 101, ENGL 111, and PSYC 101 all this semester and I will complete APHY 102 next semester. I am planning on applying to Indy.

How's everyone today? I'm tired. I was up studying half the night. I'm taking both aphy 101 and 102 (since I did so terribly in 101 ugh) and I'm already starting to cram/study for the midterm in 101 that is 2 weeks away. That's what messed me up; the midterm and final. I think I psych myself out and don't study enough (my study skills are crap), so I'm determined to do well this time.
I received a letter in the mail yesterday that really got my fire going. It was an invitation to join Phi Theta Kappa and I was so excited! I've been wondering why some others that I know received letters and I haven't (I wonder why it took til now...oh well). While this may not seem like a huge deal to some, it's extremely exciting to me because it's been so long since I've been in school and it just shows that I still CAN excel and that the saying, 'if you don't use it, you lose it' just isn't true! So, I'm kind of all giddy and silly now, please excuse me. ;-)
I bet you get an A in both though--good for you for retaking anatomy 1! :)
I never have heard of the group--or know anyone that is a member of it...i wish i did so i could tell ya more but i dont! Sorry! But congrats on the letter! So exciting!
I dont know of any websites to study that stuff from other than the testpreppreview website that someone posted a few days ago. I am sure if you google "Life science reviews" etc on google you might be able to find some sites to help ya! I'm studying for the teas right now so if I find any great sites I'll let you know!
Karateka - I know what you mean about the chat room thing, that would be nice!
So far, I'm doing really well in both aphy 1 & 2 (with the exception of that 80 on the first lab practical, ugh), but last semester, it was the midterm that totally blew my grade away in 101, so I'm determined to ace it! (or at least make no lower than an 85% lol) I'm finding that 102 is much easier for me because it's f2f and I really enjoy getting to play with the heart, baby, and torso models. They really help!
Oh and I found a ton of great websites for anyone who is doing aphy 1 or 2 online. They have study guides for the correct books along with practice tests, etc. It's been invaluable! I bought a used book so I don't know if the new books have the same type of practice stuff, but for anyone who wants the info, I have it!
Wow I would be so scared to take anatomy as an online course! That would be soo difficult for me. Some can handle it, obviously but I know I wouldn't be able to!
Ok...so I took the TEAS today. But, it was the paper and pencil version so I won't get my results until a couple days. The reading was super easy, I think I did well on that. The science was so/so and the english was easy with a few ones I didn't know. I was really stressed out during the math. I definitely didn't feel like there was enough time!! I don't think I did very well in that... After the test, I made a list of every question on the science part from memory. Does anyone know if we retake the exam if we get the same questions (or at least similar)? I hope so! Anyways...I'll probably be taking it again in March, but we'll see how I do.
Good job, biz! An 85 isn't bad at all. Good job on remembering those science questions, I could only remember a few. I'm sure you will do awesome on your next one!
Tara-yeah It was hard for me to remember all the science that was soo hard for me...I was so lost!
But congrats bizandgray! that's great! I am suprised you got your results back so quickly since you did the paper and pencil test--I decided to drive all the way to Anderson to take an online test since Lawrence and some other campuses were going to administer the paper and pencil test--I was afraid that the results would take a long time to get back.
I haven't heard much about the different tests that you get each time you retake it..but i'm curious to how close the tests are...if you hear anything let me know..
Anyone else getting a little freaked out and nervous since the deadline is so close? I have this fear (and its even in my dreams) that they won't let me in the program because they take my last semester's 101 grade into account instead of the one that I WILL (and I better lol) get this semester. I'm so worried~
I have been having dreams that I miss the deadline on turning in my applications. Talk about HORRORIFIC Dreams! They have been my re-occuring nightmares...so yes.. I know how you are feeling..it seems soo ridiculously close--a month!
