Hi everyone! I wanted to start a thread for those of us planning on applying by April 1st....
Has anyone taken the TEAS yet? Where are you with your pre-reqs? What campus are you applying to?
I am planning on taking the TEAS in December, so I have enough time to retake it :) and this is my first semester at Ivy Tech. I'm taking APHY 101, ENGL 111, and PSYC 101 all this semester and I will complete APHY 102 next semester. I am planning on applying to Indy.
And good luck to all the Spring 2010 applicants! :yeah:Hope everyone gets in!!!
Fall '10 here! Retaking some pre reqs to up my grade after slacking off in the spring, but I should hopefully be good to go! I got an 85.3 the first time around on my TEAS with no studying so I plan on retaking it early next year to try to get higher. If not, that would leave me with 209 for the program :) That is, if I manage to get As in the classes I am retaking. Hopefully I can nail this anatomy 102 this time around!
ok, i just read this and i'm not sure if everyone knew it or how big of a difference it makes to people but i guess there is another benefit to getting your co-req's done prior to starting the nursing program (besides not being completely overloaded)
a. rank order of applicants
(1) applicants will be rank ordered (highest to lowest score) by summing the following scores:
a. the teas "adjusted composite score"
b. points allotted to the grades of the completed general education prerequisite courses
c. points for region of residence
d. in the event of a tie score, one (1) point for each itcc completed general education prerequisite course will be added to the total score
e. if #4 does not break the tie, the absolute teas scores (not rounded) will be used and if necessary the date of program application will be used.
Emmi, I think they are referring only to the 4 pre-reqs, not co-reqs. So don't stress!
I guess I was reading it like...If there was a tie then they would take those other classes into consideration. Now I am even more confused to what that whole paragraph even means. I guess I will just continue to take everyone on this sites advice and just focus on the 4 classes as well as the TEAS.
Oh yeah on the TEAS, I took the ATI Practice Test online without studying and did absolutely HORRIBLE on the Science and the Math portion regarding the metric conversions. English and Reading I did really well on but I was shocked at the Science...I did poorly on everything but Scientific Reasoning. I am glad I took the pretest though so I can at least see what I need to focus on.

I remember them talking about this at the Info session...If there is a tie, they will take the other classes into consideration. If it is still a tie after that, they will take the TEAS score...
I took the ATI practice test online too...My score on the 'real' test was much better than the online practice. (hope that makes you feel a little better :loveya:)

I'm enjoying it so far. It's not been too tough. We're only on the third chapter, though, LOL, so I'm preparing myself. ;-)
