Ivy Tech 'Fall 2010' Applicants

U.S.A. Indiana

Published

Hi everyone! I wanted to start a thread for those of us planning on applying by April 1st....

Has anyone taken the TEAS yet? Where are you with your pre-reqs? What campus are you applying to?

I am planning on taking the TEAS in December, so I have enough time to retake it :) and this is my first semester at Ivy Tech. I'm taking APHY 101, ENGL 111, and PSYC 101 all this semester and I will complete APHY 102 next semester. I am planning on applying to Indy.

And good luck to all the Spring 2010 applicants! :yeah:Hope everyone gets in!!!

Oh and I'm a little worried because they don't offer APHY201 at my campus. I really want to take that class, but I'm not sure how I'm going to be able to do it now. :-(

What?! They don't offer 201 at Evansville?? That's crazy!

Kara, the last info session I went to, they took OVER an hour just to get through the intro crap by the admissions office person and the career services counselor person, so it's probably not worth your time to go to the one an hour before your class. It was ridiculous because stupid people kept asking questions very specific to their situations and taking up time. I was so annoyed because I had to leave only about halfway through the nursing chair's part. The only reason I went was to hear about summer classes and all they said was that at least one summer's worth of classes would be mandatory for the nursing program now. If they said anything else after I left I missed it but I think MistyMiss said they didn't say much else about it.

Bah. I will stick to the November one then.

So I am pretty sure I am going to apply to 4 campuses lol. Indy, Columbus, Anderson/Muncie, and Lafayette. Max drive about an hour away. I NEED to get in somewhere. But, obviously I have a ways to go.

What?! They don't offer 201 at Evansville?? That's crazy!

I looked and couldn't find 201 at Evansville. I searched specifically for that class for this semester and spring and nothing. How weird is that?

Also, I'm not from around here originally, so I have no idea what other campuses are close to E'ville. I mean...Terre Haute is what...2 or 4 hours away (I can't remember which) and Indy is 4 (I think?). If anyone could tell me what campuses are closest to E'ville, perhaps I could find a hybrid 201.

Thanks!

Tara

Yay!! Got a B on lecture AND lab exams in 102 :) Super excited about that!!

Good job!! lol I was excited about my A on my first paper in ENGL 111 and my 90% on a test in MATH 050...seems small to those APHY classes though.

Yay, kgle, that's awesome! Congrats to you, too, Emmi on that A on you're first paper and 90 in Math! I'm very happy for both of you!

I've been having dreams about APHY101 lol. Dreams that I've failed the midterm and final and I'm failing the class. They are stressing me out! So far, I've got a 94% in the class (no idea how that happened), but, as you can tell from my dreams, I'm really worried about the midterm and final. *sigh* I suppose that tells me that it's time to study. ;-)

Thanks taranator!

I wish you luck in APHY101, you are doing great so far so just keep your head up! I hope I do well in the APHY's too!

I am now struggling after the midterm in PSYC...I have no idea how this happened but I no longer have an A. Ok I know how it happened lol, just did not expect to do so poorly on the midterm. I pray that I can bring my grade back up.

ok this is a little random but i was wondering if anyone had any advice on whether or not it would be of use to take the cna preperation class through ivy tech next semester?? or if anyone has or is considering doing it? they have them at lawrence and they are only 8 weeks so i was wondering if it may help you once you are in the program.

also i was thinking maybe i could go ahead and get a job next summer since i have never even worked in the medical field before and i am sure unemployment will most likely be running out.

I have considered it and would think anything would really help. I have been thinking about doing it next summer.
