Hi everyone! I wanted to start a thread for those of us planning on applying by April 1st....
Has anyone taken the TEAS yet? Where are you with your pre-reqs? What campus are you applying to?
I am planning on taking the TEAS in December, so I have enough time to retake it :) and this is my first semester at Ivy Tech. I'm taking APHY 101, ENGL 111, and PSYC 101 all this semester and I will complete APHY 102 next semester. I am planning on applying to Indy.
And good luck to all the Spring 2010 applicants! :yeah:Hope everyone gets in!!!
Congrats on the new baby boy Emmi! Tiny little thing!
From what I have heard its easier to get in during the Spring because there are less applicants.
Well, finished the semester like I thought. SO freakin' ready for this time off!
Got my books today...I am probably going to start flipping through them :)
Thank you! I finished the semester somewhat like I thought...minus having a baby the week of finals, lol!
I can't wait to get my books so I can start reading through them too!
I have a question though...Last semester I purchased all my books from the website but I was wanting to actually go to the bookstore this semester since even my online classes (besides A&P) are out of Indianapolis. Anyway, how does that work if I will be using financial aid to purchase books but my student account does not have my financial aid applied to it yet...does that even matter?
I am probably making no sense at this point and this is more than likely a very silly question...but it is almost 4AM and I have been up since 10AM, after having slept for only 4 hours:( YEP my baby has his nights and days completely screwed up but I can't sleep with him during the day because my 4 year old would have a field day:)
That is what was told to me when I spoke to an academic advisor about mine...I attended Ivy Tech almost 5 years ago and I quit in the middle of the semester. I have retaken 3 classes and according to one of the AA at Lawrence it would remain on my transcript but the higher grade would replace the other in regards to my GPA. I hope this is true if not I am screwed!
Here is the section in the student handbook regarding retaking a course its on page 42:
REPEATED COURSES
Students, with the approval of faculty advisors, may attempt to improve a grade by repeating a course. This is allowable once in most programs. Students must complete the Course Status form. Financial aid recipients, however, should review their situations carefully since payment for repeated courses may be disallowed. Permanent student records contain complete files on all activity. The student's grade point average will reflect the highest grade earned.
All repeated courses will appear on the student's transcript, but the GPA will reflect the highest grade only. A Course Status form must be submitted to the Office of the Registrar in the term the course is being repeated.
A student attempting to repeat a course for the second time must have the permission of his/her program chair, the school chair, and the Chief Academic Officer or designee.

Ok this is kind of random...but does anyone know if it is "easier" to get in the Fall or Spring program? Like just based on past experiences or anything?
