IV Push calculations....

Published

I am having a hard time with the IVP calculations  and was wondering if anyone knew of a website that could help with this. I've searched online and not really found anything. Thank you very much in advance and if anyone has any great tips or advice to make it simpler to understand I'd love that too!!!

(Examples are welcome :D )

Well, I just started my second semester so maybe I just haven't got there yet. Im not sure I understand what you want. Ive done pushes, but no calculations were involved, you just draw up what you need out of the vial or whatever you're using.

I think im missing something though!

Can you give an example of your calculation problems? I have not yet started clinicals this semester but I did just take my math test so I may be able to help.

i was thinking that what you might be looking for is something like this http://www.musc.edu/pharmacyservices/pnp/f23.pdf . the last two pages of this 6-page document has a chart of iv push medications and how fast they are to be administered. it is from the policy manual of the pharmacy department of the medical university of south carolina. you might want to copy and paste the chart onto a word document, enlarge it and print it out for your own reference as these kinds of charts are hard to find--anywhere! i thought i was lucky when i came upon this one some months ago. some of the medications listed in the problems you are doing may be listed on this chart.

Yes, over 1 minute.
