ITT Tech?

U.S.A. Michigan

Published

Have any of you looked into their ADN program? It is new in Michigan this year; however, Indiana just had their first graduates, or are getting close to graduation.

I took the HESI at ITT Tech in July. I'm on pins and needles waiting to hear something. If all goes well, I plan to start in September. :yeah:

One drawback is the cost. Another is that nothing you take here will transfer. That's something to condider if you are young and may eventually go on to obtain your BSN. Me? I'm in my 40's now. No chance of getting my BSN.

Please post if you know anything about this school, or if you were one of the many who took the HESI here. No waiting list. Score high enough on the HESI and you're in. The caveat is that they are only taking 30 students to start. I plan to be one from the initial class. We should hear something this week.

msashley.........know that your mom and grandma are probably worried that you are paying $55,000 for an education you can get at a CC for $5,000 and your going to a school with a bad reputation. as for the transfer part, yeah ive heard that some colleges will take you for your bsn and that's fine. when i went to ITT for CAD no one would touch ITT credits. all i would say to you is are you willing to pay 10x the amount of money and go to a school that will not have a proven program track record, when the economy of michigan still sucks and a lot of places aren't hiring? Take it from a former student, when your student loans are due and your struggling to get a job because the other 500 recent grads of the 4 year schools and top CC's are getting picked ahead of you, you'll regret that student loan. i'm not trying to be mean or upset you in any way and im sure that people will berate me for posting something neg about ITT, but you really should think about it.

whosur, does it really cost that much to go to ITT ?

The actual cost isn't 55k its a little less than that and even less if you are transferring in your pre reqs which I an doing. If they take all my pre reqs I will be saving at least 15k. They also offers scholarships

MsAshley is right, they do accept pre-reqs and that helps alot.

Some of the other nursing schools in my area start clinicals after 6 weeks. I wonder why we have to wait like 6 months before we start. I know I'm not rushing the extra work thats going to come with it but I was just curious. I am getting more and more excited. I was supposed to be starting next Monday but because of all the snow days recently we cant start until the 21st :(

I am glad we have 6 months to prepare! They just want us to know everything we can possibly know before we go in.

Oh yea I am not complaining because I know the first 6 months is going to be tough in itself!! I was just curious is all. I wanted to ask you too is there anything that I should start reading up on now so that I can be ready when classes start? I feel like I should be doing something more than waiting for the first day!

Whos ur daddy. Your losing the battle man. Look how many people love the program.Im only hearing good things about the program. Oh yeah to answer your question before smart guy, if the program was not legit why does all the state boards of nursing approve them. Including the one in your state. Yeah they pay more. But they have less stress getting into a program and do not have to wait 5 years to get into one and then 4 years to graduate. They will already be making money for years ahead of you. Also about the nlnac will be accrediting the itt tech nursing program at the indiana campus this year and the rest of them will soon follow. Go itt tech!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He's not losing the battle, nobody wants to jump on here and fight with people. I think the only message he really gave was one of concern. Not all but many people may go there because they want so desperately to finish school and cannot get into an accreditted program because of how hard it is to these days and ITT tech has just found themselves a perfect opportunity to take advantage of the situation. The price of it alone should set off red flags for anyone thats more then going to a private school for your BSN

whosurdaddy is not attacking people. Did you read his other threads....No im not affiliated with the school in any way what so ever, but I do not like haters and I will break every one of you down. I told you guys before some of these people are trying to do something with their lives and for some of them it is their last hope and dream. Please dont discourage them. What do you want them to do quit and go on welfare.

I'm still waiting for the phone call. ------ is supposed to be making them tomorrow. As you know, the quarter was extended a week. Orientation is Monday. I'm very anxious to find out either way.

Someone comes up to me and starts cursing, I think I'd have to flip on 'em and scare 'em. Shouldn't be messing with the nursing students...lol

You think if someone cannot get into nursing school that they should just give up and go on welfare, really??? Hmmm theres absolutely no other options then, you must put yourself in outrageous debt to to get an associates degree from an unaccreditted technical school. Truely. the only reason I replied to this is because I feel bad for the people choosing this route.
