ITT Tech?

U.S.A. Michigan

Published

Have any of you looked into their ADN program? It is new in Michigan this year; however, Indiana just had their first graduates, or are getting close to graduation.

I took the HESI at ITT Tech in July. I'm on pins and needles waiting to hear something. If all goes well, I plan to start in September. :yeah:

One drawback is the cost. Another is that nothing you take here will transfer. That's something to condider if you are young and may eventually go on to obtain your BSN. Me? I'm in my 40's now. No chance of getting my BSN.

Please post if you know anything about this school, or if you were one of the many who took the HESI here. No waiting list. Score high enough on the HESI and you're in. The caveat is that they are only taking 30 students to start. I plan to be one from the initial class. We should hear something this week.

Some of them are regionally accredited. They are all nationally accredited.

Iluvpatho...please, do NOT feel bad for those of us applying or already accepted into ITT's Nursing Program. I don't feel bad for myself in the least.

Not sure why you're holding a grudge against ITT but just let it go, not worth it ;)

Izzy which ITT Tech are you attending?

Huntington, WV :)

I just got the call from the Nursing Chair. I have been accepted and have orientation Monday. :)

congrats!! We will have to keep in touch! I am so excited about starting on the 21st!!

For sure! I'm excited too! :yeah:

first of all there is no 5 year waiting list where i go to school, just an extremely high gpa. as for taking 4 years, wrong again its about 2 1/2 yrs with 11 pre reqs included. as for accredidation......do you know for the year and half i went to that school they kept telling us they would get accredidation, did they NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

im not posting on here to say that im sorry that your attending ITT. I just think people have a right to know about ITT. I'm sure the ITT spokesperson didnt sit there and tell you about the schools history the fact that they will way over charge you for the same education you can get elsewhere for 1/10th the price. Look mike im not here to fight with you if your happy....god bless. if you can get hired, more power too you. if you can actually transfer those credits to a 4 yr school....awesome. but dont you wonder why a technical school would all of the sudden want to start training nurses? at least ask yourself why so many "haters" get on ITT pages? you dont see a bunch of people on the community college pages bad mouthing them do you?

hey everyone I just want to say I appreciate all of the concern on this page but can we maybe stop the debate and arguing?? I mean the choices that have been made are exactly that.... Our decision. I have faith that they will get their accreditation and I have tasked to my schools of interest who have told me as long as I pass the boards I an eligible to apply for their bachelors program. I understand the cost may be high but I hate the thought of having to re take classes to boost my gpa to the required gpa of 3.8 for some schools (occ). And I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say i appreciate the concern of those trying to warn us our tell us about o ur school of choice but its exactly that our school and our decision. No offense

Apologize for the typos I was typing on my phone!!

Kayla...what exactly does the orientation consist of? I'll be going tomorrow, from 9 am - 1 pm.

Also, when do we have to have our physicals?

:)

I went to my orientation a few weeks ago. The head of our nursing department was the one that did our orientation and she introduced us to some of the teachers and gave an overview of the program. Financial aid also came and spoke with us. She had a power point presentation with all the do's and don'ts of the program as well as info on things that we needed to have completed. Our physicals aren't due right away but I believe she said before the end of the first quarter. Drug tests are done randomly at our location. She will just show up in class one day and send us to be tested. We also got our schedule and books (a TON of books too!!) It was really interesting and had me leaving a bit more stressed about how well I am going to do but I think thats typical lol. In our program we are only allowed to have one unexcused absence. Anything more than that and you risk being terminated from the program. The rules are really tight and strict which leads me to believe they are a really structured program. I am getting so excited one more day!!

Meant to say one more week! Wish it was only a day lol
