Sometimes I felt that way too....Just try to take it one day at a time. You can do it!
It's a learning experience. People are there to help. And so are people here! I wish I had discovered this site before I graduated!

You need to change how you look at it.....DO not look at it as overwhelming or it will be!!!!!. You need to focus in at the task at hand . If you look at all you have to do all at once, of course you will be stressed out. You have term "baby steps" well that is what you need to do...stay in the moment. Also while you have time organize your life so you will not be wasting time..make a plan so you will stay calm. This is just an example.......stock up on home supplies..shampoo...soap...etc...plan one day for laundry.......plan a time slot to take care of bills and personal business...your plan will be personalized to meet your needs. When you do accomplish something...pass a test..complete a project...plan a little reward..that will also give you something to look forward to and give you a break and a little boost.

Since my second semester I have been unable to sleep. I now have an alarm clock in my head that wakes me up at 3am every day, even if I didn't go to sleep till 1am. I am unable to go back to sleep because my mind keeps thinking "You need to study ........ before your final semester."
As for the crying is it because something happened or are you just overwhelmed?
If that's the case then Iluvivt has the right idea. I take advantage of my hubby and kids being asleep and do my NCLEX and ATI study guides till they wake up so I can focus on them the rest of the day.
Cheer up darling, this to shall pass. Whatever it may be.

Aww sorry you're going through stress. Like everyone said, take a deep breath and just take one step at a time. All this will eventually pass and you can do it! Nursing school is not easy, but it isn't hard either. You just have to be determined and tell yourself that the finishing line is near. Also, hang out w/ friends and pamper yourself to relax. When your body is re-energized, you'll feel alot better. Goodluck and it'll be ok =)

whenever i feel overwhelmed, i think about a saying i heard once from a wise person...
"how do you eat an elephant?...one bite at a time!"
nursing school is your elephant now, but if you can tackle it bit by bit, you'll get through it!!! believe in yourself, and you can accomplish anything :redbeathe

Hang in there...I'm right there with you. Just make sure you are taking care of yourself...read a non-nursing book, go for a run, stare at the ceiling. Just take a little bit of time out each day for yourself.
It will end, I promise! Eyes on the prize, fellow student!

OMG - don't hardly know what to say. Why are nursing schools beating the stuffing out of all of you???
Sorry I don't have anything that will make you feel better.
Just want to let you all know that you need to work on increasing your resiliance if you want a satisfying career in nursing. If you can't cope with school, you will end up being ground up into hamburger in your first clinical job. S**** happens and you can't avoid it. Stressing out like this is like paying interest on debts you don't even have.
I hope you can get better at compartmentalizing - don't let one area of stress take over your life. You will need to turn off job/school 'stuff' and keep it away from your home life if you want to survive intact. Do your best but don't spend so much time 'awfulizing' about things that may never happen. Schedule some down time for yourself - even if all you do is sit on the couch and veg.

So far, I've lived by, "I laugh because otherwise I'd cry"...last semester was extremely tough for me, if I hadn't been so exhausted, I would have cried, but I felt that was a waste of precious energy. In my school, last semester was considered the "weeding out" semester...we lost many of our fellow nursing students. Those of us that survived were not smarter, we made it by sheer determination. I still have nightmares about it - honestly. BUT...it was completely worth it. I'm proud that I had the will to make it and my confidence is just a tiny bit better because of it.
Hang in there - and know that however you are feeling, there are other who sympathize and there is always a shoulder to cry on - even if it is virtual on AN!! Just take it one day, one task, one chapter at a time.
Thank you for all the words of Wisdom and Comfort!
it was just how everything went wrong at the same time and im overwhelmed with other non-nursing things which may end up affecting my schooling...
im doing much better now- gritting my teeth and pushing forward!
Thank you all for the Encouragment !!!!!!
