I'm not sure if anyone knows my story but I lost my baby girl one year ago on July 31st at 37 weeks gestation. We buried her a year ago tomorrow.
Well, a week ago today, I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl named Ana.
7lbs.12oz. 20 inches. She was delivered per C/S at 36 and a half weeks due to my history of previous stillborn and type of incision. Other than some transient tachypnea and a touch of jaundice, she is doing great and we've been home for a couple of days now.
Oh, and thanks to that thread "what pts say/do that irks you"....I was a perfect patient....lol. I even changed my own linens and emptied my JP drain and kept up with I&O's.
My only slightly negative experience....which wasn't really THAT negative... was with what my husband and I fondly called the "boob nazis". They just needed to take the pressure down a notch. I'm the type that just needs some instruction and guidance....and my daughter and I will work out the rest. I felt slightly man-handled the recipient of a high pressured sales pitch.... I chose to breast feed a long time ago and I don't need to be sold on it.
ANYway.... it was a wonderful experience and I thank all of you wonderful OB nurses out there. You guys are awesome!!!
