Please let me know if this is true a co;worker told me a small letter is good news and a BIG letter means you failed. I don't want to be afaird of the mail. Icall home and ask who ever is home to check the mail, now no one wants to check it and tell me if there is a big letter!!

Depends on the state, you need to specify that. Each is different.

I agree with Suzanne. I've heard both from different states where the big envelope has everything in it and avoids fold lines and the small envelope is a 'sorry to inform you...' letter. I've also heard that the small envelope is a 'we're pleased to inform you....' and the big envelope is the failure letter and the paperwork needed to re-test.
It can really swing both ways.
Good luck, though!

I got a small envelope several days after testing that had a "you passed" notice with the lovely photo Pearson took of me on testing day.
A few days after that I got a big envelope with the State Guidelines for Practice handbook, registration certificate, and puurty diploma-type thing for my wall :)
Both small and big were good for me!
I guess the moral is: open ALL your mail

I took the Kaplan review course (here in Alabama) and was told by the instructor that a small envelope meant you passed, and a big envelope meant that you failed (it would be big because the retake info would be in it). Hey, I figured they would know, right?
Well, one day about a week after taking my test, the mailman knocked on my door with an envelope SO BIG that it would not FIT in my FRIGGIN' MAILBOX! I saw the return address as he held it and started to cry, refusing to take it from him. I'm sure he thought I was nuts. Luckily, dh was home, heard me crying, and came to the door. I ran into the bedroom, flung myself facedown on the bed, and sobbed. It took several minutes after he opened the envelope for him to convince me that I had PASSED and the envelope was so big because it contained a certificate. Talk about an emotional roller coaster! I still haven't forgiven Kaplan for that one.

You poor thing! That's emotional jeopardy they placed you in Mine, too, was too large: was in an "official" plastic bag hanging off my mailbox when I got home one day!

OMG! I did the exact same thing! I threw the BIG envelope on the ground and ran to my room. My husband very calmly brought it to me and told me I was being silly and to just open it. Sure enough, I'd been lied to. All was well!
I'm glad I wasn't the only one who jumped to conclusions!
