Is it time to throw in the towel?

Published

Hello everyone,

I am starting to wonder if it's time to throw in the towel and ask for my old job back. I saw a listing that they are hiring. I left my previous job as a result of high levels of stress and just plain feeling burned out. I have had a few offers but they didn't feel right. The last offer I thought was a sure thing but after accepting the offer the terms of employment changed so I moved on.

I really miss working full time. It really makes you feel good inside a part of society. It has been a while since I left my previous job. I have sent out numerous resumes, went on several interviews, travelled several distance and paid a lot money to attend interviews.

Perhaps I am a dreamer but I feel there is something out there for me. I am interested in hearing your thoughts and experiences. My goal is to work at a few flu clinics and remain positive.

The stress that caused you to leave the first time is still there! There is something out there, but it's not at your old job. Excelsior! Carpe diem! I know you will find something by looking forward, not back.

Good luck to you! Don't know the details of your situation but hoping everything goes okay for you and you find something you love.

You don't work to have fun, you work to get money that you can have fun with.

Thanks everyone for all your positive feedback. I plan to move forward. I know things will turn around.

Hmmm....I kind of agree with the previous poster that stated that the stress of your old job is still there, so keep looking. You will find it.

I've been told this, too.

I returned to a job I left, only to be reminded of why I left.

on the flip side..I left a job once I didn't think I could stand anymore of, because of one Nurse I worked with who I thought was picking on me... ( long story) and I could not see going into that anymore, then 14 years later, I came back to that place of employement--with a different frame of mind, that 14 years can give you,--and I love it now, I'm older, been through some things with my health ( breast cancer times two) and realize now, The battles I had back then, now seem so trivial, and I kick myself for leaving when I did, I don't work around that nurse anymore, but I know now, even if i did, I would of handled it much differently now. Sometimes you can go back...

One thing a very wise teacher of mine once said:

Never go back to a place, because you may be going back to the situation you left. Move on and look forward.

Thanks everyone for all your excellent comments. I have decided to move forward as something wonderful is just around the corner.:yeah:
