Is There An AllDoctors.com?

Published

I was discussing with a friend that is a physician about the wonderful world of allnurses; the resources, camradarie and support we give each other here. He asked if there was such a site for physicians as well. I'm askin'...is there?

I would think that it would be a nice thing for them. Thanks!

You know this thread will be over there soon, but yes, it really is amazing how the young ones think and how they are lacking in any knowledge not directly related to their studies.

i'm sorry, but some of those posters are just classless.

Why, why, WHY did I click the link to the "I owned a nurse" thread??? I never learn!!! At least their mods shut it down, although it was just because they were mean to each other, not because the subject was offensive.

And after reading her responses to that thread, I think we need to buy caroladybelle a car. Or a boat. Ooh, or a pony!!! Bravo, ma'am. I hope I have half your dignity and grace when I grow up.

Think I'll stick with allnurses.com. But when I need to shake my head in wonderment, I might mosey on over to 'the other side.'

There are idiots everywhere, in every profession.

you know he's saying the patient is there for "medical care" at the hands of a "medical doctor".

I've worked in a hospital for the past 4 yrs. I work at the lowest part of the totem pole, in a unit - secretary - like position, and it affords me the opportunity to see how a hospital runs and how a patient is treated.

Yes the patient comes in to see a medical doctor, forgive me if i am wrong but its human nature when someone is sick, he or she says "i'm going to go see the doctor"

Okay patient presents to the doctor, the doctor doesn't know whats wrong with the patient when he/she comes in, what does he have to do? why he has to ORDER tests, he needs blood work, he needs xrays, he needs CT scans, he or she needs all those things to find out whats wrong with the patient, and guess what, I don't see a medical doctor, drawing the bloods, or putting the protective lead jacket on the patient or running any of the test? They are the phelebotomist drawing the bloods and lab techs resulting those same bloods and the xray techs and the CT scan techs who are running said tests. When the same "medical doctor" get those test backs, then he can determine what course of action he needs to take, for example, patient needs to have drugs administered to combat their ailment, so he ORDERS those drugs and guess what I don't see him up in the pharmacy mixing said drugs? do you? and when those drugs are mixed, guess who has to administer them, oh thats right that would be the nurses.

SO whats my point? The patient comes in for "medical care", but its not at the hands of a "medical doctor" its at the hands of a medical TEAM.

Its very sad when these med students sit up there with their god complexes thinking that everything that happens its just THEM doing the work and not a collective group of people working towards the same goal.... saving a life.
